The Supreme Court declined the plea of parents seeking passive euthanasia for their 30-year-old son who has been in a vegetative state for 11 years. The court clarified that removal of the Ryles tube, used for feeding, does not constitute passive euthanasia. Instead, it sought advice from the government for a long-term care solution.

In Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, a 27-year-old separated tribal woman was gang-raped by eight men while returning from a village fair on Aug 19. Six suspects have been arrested and police are searching for the others. The accused targeted her due to her vulnerability. The woman is receiving primary health treatment and is in stable condition.

“If a kid takes 15-minute bathroom break, shouldn’t the teacher check on them,” asks the four-year-old’s relative, adding a few days ago, some parents had informed the class teacher about the arrested accused’s “misconduct”, but she didn’t pay attention.
