Brooke Mueller’s Twin Sons Bob And Max Support Mom Amid Matthew Perry’s Ketamine Investigation

Trigger Warning: This article contains references to alcohol and drug addiction.

Brooke Mueller is embroiled in the ongoing Mathew Perry death investigation; nevertheless, she has the support of her twin sons Bob and Max, 15, whom she shares with ex-husband Charlie Sheen. While celebrating her 47th birthday at her mother’s Beverly Hills, California home, Mueller posed with her sons at arms for a picture. “I’m very grateful for my kids,” she said at the event, per the Daily Mail.

Earlier this week, the actress was questioned in connection to the Friends actor’s ongoing Ketamine investigation. Mueller and Perry met each other 20 years before she married Sheen. However, they reconnected a few years ago during their stay in rehab. Although she is not amongst the five people charged with the actor’s accidental drug overdose, she was questioned by authorities as part of the investigation.

According to Page Six, the authorities received a warrant to search Mueller’s home and later seized her computer and phone. After cross-questioning, she was cleared of any wrongdoing. Instead, two of the late actor’s doctors—an acquaintance and his personal assistant, aka the so-called Ketamine Queen—were accused of multiple charges linked to illegal possession or distribution of high doses of Ketamine.

Mueller also struggled with substance abuse and entered a rehab center. During her alleged relapse last year, the Two and a Half Men actor, who also equally shares custody of the twins, handled the situation. Speaking to PEOPLE in December 2023, Sheen revealed how he handled Mueller’s alleged relapse.

“She’s trying to figure some stuff out on her end,” he acknowledged at the time. “The boys are proud of me now. They see what mom goes through, and I’m not dumping on mom because I know it’s a thing,” he added.

Sheen is a father of five who shares daughters Sami, 20, and Lola, 19, with ex-wife Denise Richards and 39-year-old Cassandra Jade Estevez with ex-girlfriend Paula Speert.

Mueller will enjoy shared custody of her sons unless she relapses or tests positive for drugs. In that case, Sheen will be handed sole custody of the Twins, according to the agreement papers obtained by PEOPLE. The paperwork allegedly states that the children’s primary residence will be with Sheen. However, the actress will be allowed “reasonable and flexible periods of custody and visitation” as agreed by both parties.

Disclaimer: If you know someone who is struggling with alcohol or substance abuse, please reach out to the authorities and report it. There are several helplines available for this.

Joker: Folie à Deux Director Reveals That Initial Idea Of Sequel Was For Joaquin Pheonix To Perform Live At Broadway; DEETS

Joker: Folie à Deux is nearing its release date, and as the fans hold their anticipation, the director of the film has dropped new details about the upcoming sequel. The filmmaker, Todd Phillips, shared with the audience that the initial idea for the movie was quite different from the final edit, which will hit screens shortly.

In conversation with Variety, the director claimed that he planned, along with Joaquin Phoenix, for the latter to perform live at the Broadway musical. Meanwhile, the actor, too, joined the conversation alongside the director and commented on the previous ideas for the film.

Phoenix also shared that the raw plot for the Broadway idea was presented by him to Phillips after the actor won an Oscar for his portrayal of Arthur Fleck in the 2019 film, Joker.

While speaking to the media portal, the actor revealed, “Todd was in the wings talking to me through a headset.” He added, “I woke up feeling elated and called him, hoping he’d want to do a show with me.”

Moreover, Phillips added to the conversation, claiming that he did think about going to Broadway. However, they let loose the idea after realizing it might take a little more time to curate the performance than expected.

The director shared, “When we started really thinking about it, we realized it takes four years to put something like that together. And is Joaquin really going to give six months of his life to do that every night onstage?” He further stated, “Then we thought about doing it at the Carlyle as sort of a smaller thing. But COVID hit.”

Though the plans on Broadway were skipped by the cast and crew, they did lay the foundation for the musical production. Joker: Folie à Deux is one of the highly anticipated films of the year. While Phoenix will reprise his role as Arthur Fleck, the movie will also introduce Lady Gaga as the partner of the Joker, Harley Quinn.

As for the plot, the synopsis of the movie reads, “Failed comedian Arthur Fleck meets the love of his life, Harley Quinn, while incarcerated at Arkham State Hospital. Upon his release, the two of them embark on a doomed romantic misadventure.”

Joker: Folie à Deux is set to hit theaters on October 4.

“Though Well Intentioned…”: Doctors’ Body On Supreme Court Directive

The Supreme Court’s appeal that the doctors return to work notwithstanding, the protesting doctors of the country are not ready to relent. The court, which initiated a hearing on the massive row today, had tried to balance security of doctors with patient care, calling for a national protocol for safety at workplaces. But the doctors made their position clear.

One of the doctors’ bodies — the All-India Residents and Junior Doctors’ Joint Action Forum — has not minced words.

“The Supreme Court’s directive for increased security at hospitals, while well-intentioned, does not address the core problems plaguing our healthcare system,” read a communique from the Forum.

“The real issue is a public healthcare system that has been systematically neglected, underfunded, and understaffed for decades. While the CJI’s call for enhanced security in hospitals is a response to the immediate crisis this cannot be a permanent and feasible solution,” it added.

Calling for a “comprehensive overhaul of the system”, the organization said, it will “continue the movement until our demands are met… We will not rest until the real culprits are brought to justice, and the systemic issues that plague our healthcare system are addressed”.

The resident doctors of RG Kar Medical College made it clear that they will not take a step back — for now. “Our cease work will continue resolutely until the Supreme Court delivers its verdict on Thursday. This is not just a protest; it is a stand for the safety, dignity, and rights of every medical professional in our country,’ read its note to the media.

FORDA (Federation of Resident Doctors Association) said it has already held a meeting with representatives of 35 Resident Doctors’ Associations.

“The representatives will now consult with Resident Doctors for their feedback, before a follow-up meeting,” it said, underscoring that the movement will continue to be guided by the ‘collective voices” of our resident doctors.

The top court, which has taken note of the huge row on its own – today explained its reasons for doing so. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, who led the three-judge bench, said, “Why we decided to take suo motu though High Court was hearing it because this is not just a case of a horrific murder in the Kolkata hospital…but this is about systemic issue about safety of doctors across India.”

The judges added: “Since the court is considering matters related to the safety and welfare of all doctors, we request those doctors who are currently away from work to resume their duties as soon as possible. The absence of doctors affects the section of society that needs medical care. Doctors and medical professionals can be assured that their concerns are being addressed by the Supreme Court”.

As for the horrific rape and murder of the 31-year-old doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, the court spared none of the authorities – the hospital, the police or the state government. The top court has sought a status report from the investigating agency CBI on Thursday.

It has also underscored the need for a “national protocol for safe conditions of work”. Such a protocol, it said, has to be enforced across the country.
