Eliminated Claim To Fame Contestant Talks About Their Iconic Relative And The JLo Clue Everyone Missed

Trigger Warning: This article contains spoilers for Claim to Fame season 3, episode 6

Claim to Fame, a show with one of the most unique concepts in recent television history, continues to feature iconic celebrity relatives in its latest season.

Hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas, this series challenges 12 celebrity relatives to step outside their famous family members’ shadows and live together under one roof, concealing their identities and lineages in a quest for their own fame and fortune.

In season 2, episode 6, which aired on Aug. 14, contestant Danny found himself in the position of the infamous guesser. After getting help from Shane, the two felt confident that Mackenzie’s relative was Blake Shelton. However, when that guess proved incorrect, Danny was eliminated.

Danny whose real name is Nael Zayas, revealed that his uncle is Grammy-winning singer Marc Anthony. Furthermore, in a chat with PEOPLE Zayas addressed his elimination and said that he felt confident in guessing Mackenzie’s relative as Blake Shelton, even though he wasn’t very familiar with country singers.

“Blake was the first tall country singer I thought of. Even though it was wrong, I still feel good about the guess,” Nael shared that the constant guessing and strategizing during the show became exhausting for him. He was also amazed by how long it took the audience to reason out his celebrity relative, joking, “I thought they would’ve found out sooner, but I must have done something right.”

Nael acknowledged that the clue about Marc Anthony’s ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, was a big hint. “I knew they’d catch on to that eventually,” he said. He also mentioned that his uncle, Marc Anthony, was very supportive of him joining the show and suggested he should always be honest.

Season 2 of Claim to Fame ended last summer, and after besting 11 other contestants with secret celebrity relatives, one star finally took home the $100,000.

Then in Season, we witnessed Jimmy Carter’s grandson break down in tears and absolutely no one had a clue who Donny Osmond was. Now in season 3 a new batch of faces took over to continue the fun guessing game.

Season 3 air on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu as was the case with Seasons 1 and 2.

Double iSmart Twitter Review: Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh’s combo is a HIT or MISS?

Five years have passed since iSmart Shankar, and Puri Jagannadh finds himself at a crossroads yet again. After facing a massive setback with Liger, all eyes are now on Double iSmart. So, has he delivered? Let us look at 8 tweets from viewers to understand the audience’s perception of the movie.

Double iSmart Twitter reviews

Talking about the film’s first half, a user commented, “Average first half. Ali (actor) scenes are continuously (cringe emojis)”

Another user wrote, “Overall, the film is average or just above average. If Ali’s scenes are trimmed, it will be a hit. How did you write a character like this Puri? Ram, you have acted phenomenally, I am a fan of your dancing.”

Going by the first two reviews alone, it seems that a lot of netizens are unhappy with the character played by Ali in the film.

Expressing a similar emotion as the last user, a netizen commented, “RAM RAM RAM, all we can see is RAM throughout the movie. One-man show. Ram’s terrific peak ultimate energy throughout the movie whether in dance, fights, acting, dialogue, charm, swag, and screen presence.”

Adding on to the negative reviews, another user wrote, “Decent first half followed by a rod second half, worse screenplay, did not engage even in one place. Go for it, if you want to see Ram’s dance but even that was not choreographed well.”

Talking yet again about RAPO (Ram Pothineni), a user commented, “Hurting to see RAPO wasting his potential by choosing worse scripts.” He further added, “Songs are meh everything is trash. Kavya is gorgeous.”

To end, summing up the overall mediocre sentiment around the movie, a user wrote, “Decent watch, nothing special. Ali’s track is so bad that it will make you laugh. Mani Sharma’s BGM is good. 3/5”

Sanjay Dutt’s role seems to make a minimal impact in the film, according to a X user.

For the unversed, after a dull period at the box office for director Puri Jagannadh, Ismart Shankar came as a relieving breath in 2019. Although the film wasn’t nearly close to his best, there were glimpses of the Puri Jagannadh from Pokiri – the eccentric hero characterization, the wacky dialogues, and the catchy songs.

Directed by Puri Jagannadh, and co-produced with Charmee Kaur under Puri Connects, Double iSmart is a spiritual sequel to iSmart Shankar, which stars Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt alongside Kavya Thapar, Bani J, Sayaji Shinde, Getup Srinu and Ali.

Have you watched Double iSmart? What are your thoughts on the Ram Pothineni starrer? Let us know in the comments!

“Strictest Punishment For Crimes Against Women”: PM Amid Kolkata Protests

As the Mamata Banerjee government faces massive anger and protests over the rape and murder of a doctor at a Kolkata hospital, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said he feels the outrage in society over atrocities against women and state governments need to take this seriously.

Addressing the nation on Independence Day, the Prime Minister said that the country is witnessing leadership by women in several fields, including Air Force, Army, Navy and the space sector. “But there are some worrisome developments too. I want to express my pain from the Red Fort today. As a society, we need to think seriously.”

“There is public outrage over atrocities against our mothers and sisters. I feel this outrage. The country, the society, our state governments need to take this seriously. Crimes against women must be probed as soon as possible, those involved in demonic acts must face strict punishment at the earliest, this is necessary to create faith in society,” the Prime Minister said, apparently referring to the rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The Prime Minister then said that when incidents of violence against women take place, there is a lot of discussion in the media. “But when such perverted people get punishment, it is not seen prominently in news. Time demands that there is widespread discussion on punishments too so that criminals are scared. It is important to create this fear,” he said.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid national outrage over the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder. The investigation has been transferred to the CBI after the Calcutta High Court noted that the city police had made no significant progress in investigation and that there is a possibility of the tampering of evidence.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, whose government is drawing fire over the chilling incident, has said the state government will support the central agency in its investigation, but slammed the Opposition for protests to “defame” Bengal.

“A coordinated approach has been executed by the BJP and CPM, with support from the Centre, to defame Bengal and exploit the situation,” Ms Banerjee said. “They are taking cues from student unrest in Bangladesh and are attempting to capture power similarly. But they won’t succeed,” she said.
