On Wednesday, August 14, Days of Our Lives takes a dark turn for Brady and Fiona. Brady, devastated by losing Theresa, ends up drinking heavily, something even losing custody of his daughter Rachel didn’t cause him to do. He goes out drinking with Fiona, and they make the mistake of driving afterward.
Predictably, it ends in disaster. Fiona, used to these kinds of situations, urges Brady to flee and forget it ever happened, hoping that his drunken state might make him unable to remember anything.
Meanwhile, Xander is puzzled as to why his new wife hasn’t shown up yet with their baby girl. Their life seems perfect now, so he can’t understand what could be wrong.
In another part of Salem, Chad is convinced that the mysterious woman he and Jack found is his supposedly dead wife, Abigail. Luckily, modern technology can help—DNA tests can confirm her identity. Salem Hospital’s tests are usually accurate, so Chad hopes this will clear up the mystery.
Elsewhere, Leo, who has been in therapy, now believes he knows all the psychiatric terms. He starts to think Hattie might be an alternate personality of his favorite dog, Marlena.
Instead of just asking Marlena directly, he jumps to this odd conclusion. Leo’s foolishness shines through here, as he’s confident in his wrong assumptions, thinking he’s much smarter than he is.
Previously in Days of Our Lives, Xander, Sarah, Maggie, and Fiona are still in their wedding clothes at the apartment, eating cake. Xander gets a text saying Brady missed a meeting he was supposed to attend. Fiona asks who Brady is, and Xander jokingly calls him his dumb nephew who let him down.
Maggie, who is Brady’s sponsor in AA, defends him. When Fiona mentions Maggie being in AA, Maggie offers to go to a meeting with her. Fiona says she’ll think about it. Sarah then gets an alert that Theresa was moved to Statesville, assuming that’s why Brady didn’t show up. Xander thinks Brady should have at least called. Fiona looks worried.
At a bar, Brady finishes a drink and orders another, staring at a picture of his son, Tate, on his phone. Meanwhile, Tate and Holly are at the Horton cabin, eating takeout. Holly is upset about Sophia but feels safe because she paid her off to stay quiet. When Brady calls Tate, the teens worry that Sophia spilled their secret.
But Brady just wants to check if Tate made it to New York. Tate lies, saying he’s on the way back to camp. After hanging up, Tate and Holly are excited for when he comes home from camp in a few weeks so they won’t have to sneak around.
In Kayla’s office, Jack asks his sister-in-law to do a DNA test on a mysterious woman. Chad, in the hospital lobby, warns this woman about the coffee, and after she takes a sip, she agrees it’s bad. She worries that if she is Abigail, she still might not remember Chad or their life together.
Later, Fiona joins a drunk Brady at the bar. They drink together, and Fiona suggests they go to her place, but Brady says he needs to go home. However, he gives her a lingering kiss.
As Fiona drives, with Brady passed out in the passenger seat, Sarah crosses the street. Fiona looks at Brady, then back at the road, just as bright lights flash in Sarah’s face. Fiona swerves and the screen goes black as we hear a thud.
