Kesha’s TiK ToK Turns 15: Singer Confirms Changing ‘Diddy Lyric’ From Song To Send A Powerful Message To Sean Diddy Combs

Trigger warning: This article contains references to abuse and trafficking.

Kesha, 37, is one the famous artists, who is recognized for multiple songs but is majorly known for her track, TiK ToK. Now the song has completed its 15 years and it’s surely making the listers feel nostalgic.

The Timber vocalist took to her X handle on August 7 (Wednesday) to celebrate the song’s 15th anniversary. In the lengthy post, she also gave a major update about the song’s lyric change in the first line of the track.

The lyric change is because of rapper, Sean Diddy Combs who is currently facing multiple allegations related to abuse and trafficking. The song’s first lyric goes, “Wake up in the morning’ feeling like P. Diddy.”

In Kesha’s X post, she stated, “TiK ToK was the first single that I put into this world that had my voice AND my name credited!!!! I remember making it fun and happy because that’s how I felt and wanted others to feel. What I’m so proud of is that’s how this song STILL makes me feel, through it all, and those are emotions I want all of us to connect to.”

The 37-year-old singer went on to say that the song captured the way she viewed the world at that time and showed the side of hers that she loved a lot. She stated that she has changed with the world.

She wrote, “That girl was naive and wild and playful. This song eternalizes a side of myself that I love very much, and now see I have to protect fiercely. The world has changed so much and so have I.”

She further credited singer and actress Renee Rapp for the changes in the track’s lyric and confirmed that it is a permanent change. Once she has the legal rights, she will record the song again.

Kesha wrote, “Now, my first baby stands for so much. It stands for fiercely protecting my fun and unadulterated joy, in myself and in others.”

The 37-year-old concluded with, “The whole ride has been absolute insanity, but the JOY is still riding. I hope you all can find 3 1/2 minutes of play in this song and connect with your wild child-like joy.”

As per People Magazine, Rapp has previously helped out the Crazy Kids singer with the lyric change during her Coachella performance. The changed lyric was, “Wake up in the morning feeling like, f*** P. Diddy!”

According to the outlet, in November 2023, during a tour stop, Kesha tweaked the lyric to, “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me.”

As far as her other career endeavors go, the pop singer released her first single, Joyride in July, from her upcoming sixth album. It was released by her own record label, Kesha.

Back in December 2023, she released her album, titled Gag Order, she then left Kemosabe Records. The album failed to perform well commercially.

Samantha is heartbroken as Vinesh Phogat announces retirement from wrestling after being disqualified from Olympics 2024

It has been a saddening last few days for India at the 2024 Paris Olympics as wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from her gold medal match for being overweight for her 50kg wrestling bout.

Despite her best measures, the star athlete unfortunately fell short by 100 grams, forcing a disqualification. Post the news breaking out, several celebrities came forward in support of Vinesh.

Unfortunately for fans of Vinesh and fans of wrestling, the Olympian has decided to call it quits on her wrestling career post the disqualification.

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu voiced out the nation’s feelings when she reposted a post about Vinesh’s retirement. Words were too heavy to describe the emotions as Sam shared a heartbreak emoji, summing up the overall sentiment of a billion Indians.

According to the PTI (Press Trust of India), Vinesh Phogat has retired from the sport. In her retirement message, the athlete stated, “Ma(mother), wrestling has won, I have lost. Please forgive me, your dreams, and my courage, everything is broken. I don’t have any more strength now. Goodbye wrestling 2001-2024. I shall be indebted to you all. Forgive me.”

After a brilliant run at the 2024 Olympics defeating several world champions, Vinesh was just moments away from scripting history for herself, for her family, and India. However, fate had different plans as she was found 100 grams overweight during the weigh-in.

According to reports, Vinesh tried her best to lose the 100 grams, which also led to dehydration, causing her to be hospitalized. Unfortunately, she could not cut it in time, leading to her removal from the 50kg women’s wrestling gold medal match.

Following this, there have been several protests from the wrestling community and also from fellow netizens who have questioned the Olympic committee’s decision. The common talking point is why is Vinesh not deserving of a silver medal when she has made it to the final? Is it fair that an athlete who has reached the final, walks away with no medal?

Matt Damon Shares He and Casey Affleck ‘Grew Up Together’ Amid Working on Their New Movie Together; Deets Here

Matt Damon shares his decades-long bond with The Instigators co-star Casey Affleck. Damon has been friends with the Affleck brothers, Ben and Casey, for almost 40 years and reflects on what it’s like to work with someone he’s “grown up” with.

Damon is reuniting with his dear friend Casey Affleck for the Apple Original film The Instigators. This heist comedy follows Rory and Cobb, unlikely partners who team up for a heist. When things go awry, they must outrun the police, backward bureaucrats, and a vengeful crime boss.

This isn’t the first time Casey Affleck and Matt Damon have teamed up for a heist movie. They previously appeared in The Ocean’s Trilogy, though they were part of an ensemble cast. The Instigators focuses solely on their characters and the chaos that ensues during a heist.

Their collaboration goes beyond professional ties; Matt, Casey, and Ben Affleck have been friends for a long time. Reflecting on reuniting with Casey for this major project, Matt said, “We have this 43-year shared history; we grew up together. There’s an underlying understanding of who we are.”

Matt, accustomed to the shifting dynamics of Hollywood, appreciates that there’s no pretense between him and Casey. He noted that their long-standing relationship means they don’t need to engage in diplomatic niceties, making their collaboration smooth and natural.

Damon elaborated, “In our business, there’s a whole language that gets created around trying to protect people’s feelings because people’s egos are involved.”

The Doug Liman directorial heist comedy is based and shot in their native city of Boston. When discussing their shooting experience in his childhood home, where he grew up with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Casey Affleck added, “Boston has changed a lot,” notes Casey. “It’s really not the city that we grew up in.

The Manchester By The Sea actor continued, “On the other hand, it’s the place where I still feel more at home than anywhere else. So that says something about what a place does to you when you’re growing. I’ll forever be connected to this place, no matter how much it changes.”

Damon recalls pursuing Hollywood aspirations with the Affleck siblings in the years preceding the Oscar-winning triumph of 1997’s Good Will Hunting, including not being “afraid to be vulnerable with each other as young men” in Boston.

The Instigators is a comedy movie about a heist gone wrong. Matt Damon plays the desperate divorced dad, Rory, while Casey portrays the ex-cop, Coby.

Chuck MacLean and Casey Affleck co-wrote the film, which also stars Hong Chau, Michael Stuhlbarg, Paul Walter Hauser, Alfred Molina, Ron Perlman, and Rapper Jack Harlow. The Instigators is currently in theaters and will be available for streaming on Apple TV on August 9.
