News18 has learnt that the period between August and September is being considered for holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir, though the poll body is yet to officially comment on the same.

The government has sought suggestions/objections from the public over the next 60 days, following which the panel will submit its report to the environment ministry, which can declare the area under ESA either state-wise or publish a combined single notification
