Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu seek assistance for developing new state capitals and project-specific support in a meeting with Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Kerala demands a Rs 24,000 crore special package to overcome a liquidity crisis. Similarly, Tamil Nadu FM Thangam Thenarasu sought budgetary provision of Rs 63,000 crore Chennai metro rail’s second phase.
