Breaking Bad Star RJ Mitte Passes Away At 34

RJ Mitte best known for his portrayal of Walter White Jr. In Breaking Bad passed away at the tender age of 34 on October 13, 2026. The cause and manner of his death are still under investigation.

RJ Mitte was well renowned for being an actor as well as the founder of the non-profit organisation, The Mitte Foundation, With a goal of aiding individuals in need with grants, scholarships, and hope.

RJ Mitte mentioned how he never deliberately tried to be an influencer, but how it naturally became a thing. He said, “I’ve tried to avoid being an advocate and a spokesmodel and all those different things. But the more I tried to avoid doing it, the more I found myself in the middle of it.”

Just days before his unfortunate passing away, he spoke a bit about his famous character from the show. He had said, “My character was written with someone with cerebral palsy. This was from the beginning; that was always the case… Walt Jr. was based on a real person, a friend of Vince Gilligan in college who had cerebral palsy, who used forearm crutches and sometime after passed away. So it really felt real playing this character and getting into the groove with this character.”

Mitte’s advocacy said, “Was rooted in a commitment to ensuring that people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities are seen, heard, and afforded the opportunity to reach their full potential… His legacy will live on in the lives he inspired and in the ongoing work to build a more inclusive world for people with disabilities,”

Dating back to a 2015 interview, RJ Mitte talked on how he attributed success as an actor to his disability. He had said, “I think everyone that has a disability has the opportunity to make an impact with what they can do and who they are. I wouldn’t be able to do what I do today if it wasn’t for my disability and what it instilled in me,”

Before his passing away, RJ Mitte was busy promoting his new film Talking To Strangers in which he will once again reprise his new character as a person with cerebral palsy.
