Exclusive: Mirzapur Duo Divyenndu and Abhishek Banerjee Reunite for Upcoming Empire Drama

Divyenndu and Abhishek Banerjee, who became fan favourites as Munna Tripathi and Compounder in Mirzapur, are set to reunite on screen for an upcoming series. Filmfare has learnt that the actors will headline a new series from Endemol, which is an empire drama. It will be an Amazon MX Player original.
The pairing is particularly interesting given the recall value the two actors have from Mirzapur. While Divyenndu’s Munna and Abhishek’s Compounder shared a memorable dynamic in the popular crime drama, their upcoming project will see them step into an entirely new world.

The yet-untitled series is centred around an empire, with the story expected to explore the world of power, ambition and the dynamics that come with building and protecting one. Details about the plot and the actors’ characters are currently being kept under wraps.
The series is being produced by Endemol and will stream on Amazon MX Player. Further details about the title, characters and release are expected to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Divyenndu has had a busy 2026, returning as Munna Bhaiya in Mirzapur: The Movie, which released in September. He also made his Telugu debut with Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi. He was also seen in the Netflix series Glory, alongside Pulkit Samrat earlier this year.
Abhishek Banerjee, meanwhile, made his Tamil web series debut with Legacy, starring alongside R Madhavan, and was also part of Lust Stories 3 and the Netflix film Toaster, produced by Rajkummar Rao.

Hollywood Legend Eva Marie Saint Oscar Winner for On the Waterfront Passes Away at 102

Hollywood has lost one of the last glittering pillars of its golden era. Eva Marie Saint, the radiant, fiercely talented star who captured hearts and critical acclaim over a career that stretched across nine decades, has passed away at the age of 102. Her representative confirmed she died peacefully of natural causes at her Los Angeles home, surrounded by loved ones.

Saint did not just enter Hollywood, she took it by storm. Making an unforgettable feature film debut opposite Marlon Brando in Elia Kazan’s 1954 classic On the Waterfront, she delivered a turn of astonishing, fragile vulnerability as Edie Doyle. The performance swept the industry, earning her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Heavily pregnant at the time of the March 1955 ceremony, Saint walked up to the stage and famously beamed to the room: “I may have the baby right here!” She gave birth just two days later. That was the magic of Eva Marie Saint, radiant poise wrapped in genuine grit.

Her genius caught the eye of master filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock, who boldly cast her against type as the seductive, cool-headed undercover agent Eve Kendall in North by Northwest (1959). Hitchcock meticulously curated every detail of her look, styling her as the quintessential Hitchcock blonde opposite Cary Grant. Reflecting on his transformative direction, Saint once shared, “He worked with me from the outside in. My hair, my makeup, my shoes, my jewellery, my purse, my gloves, everything. And just from creating that exterior for me, he gave me the sense of a spy lady.”

Beyond the glitz of silver-screen thrillers, Saint was a true actor’s actor, earning a Primetime Emmy and working right into the 2000s with films like Superman Returns. With her passing, an entire chapter of Hollywood royalty draws its curtain, leaving behind performances that will inspire cinephiles forever.
