âœThe Makeup Was Taking So Long – Tom Cruise On His Character In Digger

Tom Cruise’s next, Digger, is soon to be released in theatres, this time in a completely new avatar. Tom has a history of going over the top with transformations in certain roles. It reaches a point where you have to sit and ponder whether that is, in fact, Tom Cruise.

Tom extends to the same limits once again in Digger as he plays the role of an unhinged and greedy billionaire, Digger Rockwell, with physical traits far contrasting to his very own.

During an interview at The Graham Norton Show, he revealed a few facts about his transformation process into the character’s skin. He said, “Let me make it clear… None of that is me! The makeup was taking so long that I decided to get it down from six hours to one. It was like a ballet, getting everything in place.”

He jokingly compared the task to a high-adrenaline sport. He added, “It was just like Formula 1. I had someone else hold the stopwatch!” Tom continued, “My character is outrageous and unpredictable. He says things that others may be thinking and never say.”

He further talks about the story and the greatness being produced by the director. “It’s a timeless story about power, greed, and ego framed in a very timely manner by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.” Tom Cruise continues to praise the role he played as a true fan. “I’ve never read a script like it, and I have never seen a character like Digger.”

Some other roles in which he has gone to great lengths with makeup are Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder (2008), Frank T.J. Mackey in Magnolia (1999), David Aames in Vanilla Sky (2001), and Lestat de Lioncourt in Interview With The Vampire (1994).

Digger will be released on October 2, 2016. You can watch the trailer here:

Monali Thakur Helly Shah And Devarshi Shah Turn Up The Navratri Beat With Galgoto

Navratri playlists just got a fresh addition. Galgoto, the new festive track from Times Music, dropped today, and it’s bringing exactly the kind of celebratory chaos the season calls for. The song brings together the voices of Monali Thakur, Parth Oza and Suhit Abhyankar, with television actress Helly Shah and Gujarati star Devarshi Shah fronting the music video.

Composed by Suhit Abhyankar, written by Jay Tannah and produced by Piyush Shankar, Galgoto doesn’t waste any time getting into its groove. It’s loud, colourful and built entirely for movement, the kind of track that has your feet tapping before the first chorus even hits.

Monali Thakur summed up the vibe perfectly. “Galgoto is full of energy, rhythm and joy. I hope people dance to it, celebrate with it and make it a part of their Navratri this year.”

Helly Shah, who fronts the video alongside Devarshi, echoed that same infectious spirit. “Galgoto instantly makes you want to get up and dance. The entire experience of shooting the video was filled with so much energy, and I’m excited for everyone to celebrate with the song.”

Devarshi Shah had his own take on why the track fits the season so well. “Navratri is such a vibrant celebration, and Galgoto captures that spirit beautifully. It was a fantastic experience being part of a song that is all about music, dance and celebration.”

Times Music CEO Mandar Thakur also weighed in on the timing. “Navratri is one of the biggest cultural celebrations in the country, and Galgoto brings together the energy, music and visual appeal that the season demands.”

With the dandiya sticks already coming out across the country, Galgoto looks all set to become this year’s go-to festive anthem. It’s streaming now on all major audio platforms, with the full video up on Times Music’s YouTube channel.
