Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga went suggesting an airport name. He walked away with a marketing beat for his next film, Spirit. On Friday, Vanga tweeted his excitement over Warangal, his hometown, finally getting its own international airport. He suggested two names, Rudrama International Airport and Kakatiya International Airport, both nods to the region’s dynastic history. He thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for pushing the project forward. The CM’s reply was three words: “That’s the SPIRIT..!!”

An unexpected update

The phrase was, as Vanga pointed out, a line lifted straight from his upcoming film. The Kabir Singh maker responded in no time, calling the coincidence surprising and telling the CM that the phrase hit differently coming from him.

Within minutes, the exchange between the Animal maker and the CM was being treated less as political small talk and more as an accidental teaser drop. A phrase nobody would call catchy on paper had, apparently, been engineered by Vanga to work as one. That’s the pattern with him. Vanga doesn’t reach for elaborate dialogue. He takes something flat and turns it into a punchy line.

Spirit carries outsized expectations already, teaming Sandeep Vanga with Prabhas for the first time. The Baahubali star has built a career on saying less. His characters tend to let silence and grittiness do the talking (especially in films like Salaar), then drop one line that carries the whole scene. A phrase as plain as “That’s the spirit” fits that mold almost too well.

Prabhas’ fans have been eagerly waiting for an update on Spirit. For now, they are happy about the unexpected manner in which Vanga dropped one. The film features raw, gritty action blocks choreographed by international stunt experts, highlighted by a major face-off sequence with antagonist Vivek Oberoi. Spirit, co-starring Tripti Dimri and Vivek Oberoi, will grace the big screens on 5 March 2027. But that looks highly unlikely given that Fauzi release has been postponed.

New mothers deserve time with their families, the Maatrubhumi actor further added, also opining that Katrina will easily get back into shape whenever she chooses to return to working in films.

Jr NTR underwent a surgery after injuring his shoulder during filming an action sequence on the sets of his upcoming film, Dragon. He underwent a successful arthroscopic shoulder surgery followed by a structured rehabilitation program. While the actor is on the path of recovery, director Prashanth Neel kept production moving by shooting childhood portions and non-NTR sequences, debunking rumours that the film was put on hold.

Jr NTR underwent shoulder surgery in the second week of August. And doctors advised him to rest for over four to six weeks. The actor is currently on rehabilitation program taking physiotherapy. While his return to the Dragon sets will take some more time, the film unit has its task cut out. To meet the deadline of June 11, 2027 release, the unit had planned several scenes. But Jr NTR’s injury pushed them to postpone the Sri Lanka schedule and rearrange the shooting. Even though the makers dismissed rumours of a delay, clarifying that director Prashanth Neel utilized the downtime efficiently by shooting non-actor portions, they have an uphill task.

Jr NTR has almost recovered and received medical clearance but is yet to return to active filming. Going by his current rehabilitation program, he may return to the film sets in October and complete the remaining high-voltage action blocks.

Dragon generates massive buzz

Dragon is generating massive market buzz so far! Jr NTR plays Luger, the fierce Assassin-in-Chief of the Afghan Trading Company. Set in a gritty 1960s period backdrop involving the dark opium trade, his character is described as one of the darkest and most intense roles written by the director.

The actor’s physical transformation for the part has been one of the most talked about aspects in tinsel town. A star-studded pan-India cast including Anil Kapoor and Rukmini Vasanth and high-voltage action schedules in Africa and Hyderabad have kept the film’s buzz alive.
