One of the leading choreographers in Tollywood, Sekhar Master has worked with many superstars and composed iconic dance moves for blockbuster commercial numbers. The latest viral song Mallepula Pallaki…Bangaru Pallaki from the Ravi Teja-starrer Irumudi is a new addition to his celebrated filmography. The devotional track is associated with devotees of Lord Ayyappa – on which the film Irumudi is based.

The Mallepula Pallaki song became a household and iconic number at all Ganesh pandals. Speaking to Filmfare, Sekhar Master explains the backstory of how things unfolded. “I wanted the song to be like a signature one so that all Ayyappa devotees can groove easily. The song isn’t a masala song, but a devotional celebration number, so it should be composed aesthetically to retain the intrinsic values.”
Sekhar, who himself undertook Ayyappa Deeksha a few times earlier, shares that he is aware of how the devotional track is sung during the pooja. “Devotees only clap (and don’t dance) and engross themselves in the song. But I gave a cinematic spin and composed choreography that blends traditional Ayyappa devotional rhythm with upbeat folk-style dance steps,” he explains.

The Mallepula Pallaki song was shot in four days at an outdoor set on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The synchronised group clapping, rhythmic steps, and energetic shoulder movements made the song an instant chartbuster. Interestingly, Sekhar had abstained from eating non-veg while shooting for the song. “I needed to be in that space where I want to be spiritually disciplined, so I restricted myself and did not eat any non-vegetarian diet,” reveals Sekhar.

Sekhar’s choreography has been getting a lot of acclaim as fans and audiences dance in theatres. The song became viral as people on online platforms are recreating their own energetic variations while maintaining the core devotional beat. Superstar Mahesh Babu called and appreciated Sekhar’s graceful compositions (both teamed up earlier for blockbuster songs like Kurchi Madatha Petti and Ma Ma Maheshaa). “I was super thrilled with the call,” says the ecstatic choreographer. “Mahesh sir said that after many years he had watched a song, especially a devotional number, getting so much acclaim both in theatres and outside. He congratulated me for my work. Bangaru Pallaki song holds a special place in my heart. It gave me great satisfaction, and all the admiration means a lot to me.”

Taylor Swift has never attended the Emmy Awards. Technically, she still hasn’t. And yet, somehow, she ended up being one of the biggest talking points of the 78th Primetime Emmys.
Here’s how it went down. Host Mariska Hargitay opened the show with a pre-taped sketch where she slipped right back into her Law & Order: SVU detective avatar, Olivia Benson, to investigate the one question consuming the internet.

“The mayor’s office is breathing down my neck, demanding an answer to the big question: Will Taylor Swift be at the Emmys?” Hargitay said, before adding, “in order to crack a Swifty case, you’ve got to think like a Swifty because the Swifties think that everything is a clue to what she’ll do next.”
What followed was a full-blown detective bit, complete with corkboards and evidence strings, as the SVU team tried to decode Emmy nominations for hidden Swift connections. At one point, they noted that Abbott Elementary had seven nominations and was heading into season six, and six plus seven equals thirteen, Swift’s famously lucky number. Peak Swiftie logic, basically.
Then came the twist. Swift herself appeared in the sketch, dressed in a suit and playing a squad rookie, noticeably sporting a much shorter, cropped hairstyle. She even dropped a string of cryptic words straight into the camera, including “saccharide,” “Aries,” “from the vineyard,” and “north or south,” sending fans into predictable overdrive. The bit also featured Swift’s own cat, Olivia Benson, named after Hargitay’s character, appearing as her co-detective.

The punchline of the whole thing? Swift wasn’t at the Emmys because her husband Travis Kelce “has a work thing.” That work thing being the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener against the Denver Broncos, where she was spotted watching from a suite, reportedly alongside Tom Cruise.
So, she skipped the show, dropped Easter eggs anyway, and still stole the conversation. Classic Taylor.
