Alia Bhatt On What Makes Alpha A Special Film

Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari is gearing up for its theatrical release on July 3. The project marks a notable shift in Indian cinema by placing two women at the center of a large-scale, action-oriented movie. Alia Bhatt recently talked about her time working on the project, mentioning that it was a highlight of her career so far.

About the filming, she said, “I had such a good time making Alpha. It’s probably one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had on a film set. There was something really exciting about stepping into this world of action, scale and adventure. It pushed me in ways I hadn’t experienced before and I loved every bit of it.”

A key element that attracted Alia to the project was the focus on female leads in an action-heavy narrative. She said, “What I loved most was that at the heart of it were two women leading all the action. We don’t get to see that very often and I had a lot of fun being part of that. Alpha is a celebration of attitude and a celebration at the movies.”

Alia shared that the daily experience on set was bolstered by the collaborative environment created by the cast and crew. She mentioned that the energy behind the scenes was something she looked forward to during the shoot. She added, “What made it even more special was getting to do it with such a fantastic group of people. Whether it was our director, cast, the action team, or the crew behind the scenes, there was a real sense of excitement around what we were making and I think some of that energy found its way onto the screen. I genuinely looked forward to going to set every morning and I loved every minute of it.”

Mammootty Meets PM Narendra Modi With Family After Receiving Padma Bhushan

Receiving the Padma Bhushan is a milestone few artists get to experience. For Mammootty, the day became even more memorable as it concluded with a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside his family in New Delhi.

Shortly after being conferred the country’s third-highest civilian honour by President Droupadi Murmu, the veteran actor met the Prime Minister at his invitation. Joining Mammootty for the interaction were his wife Sulfath, daughter Surumi, son and actor Dulquer Salmaan, and daughter-in-law Amal Sufiya. The meeting added a personal touch to a day that celebrated the actor’s remarkable contribution to Indian cinema spanning more than four decades.

Photographs from the interaction were later shared by the Prime Minister on social media, quickly attracting attention from fans and film enthusiasts across the country. In one of the images, Mammootty and his family are seen posing alongside Narendra Modi, while other pictures captured moments from their conversation.

Sharing the photographs online, the Prime Minister wrote, “Met the noted actor Mammootty and his family after the Padma ceremony earlier today.”

A Day Of National Recognition

The meeting came on the heels of Mammootty receiving the Padma Bhushan at the official investiture ceremony held in New Delhi. The actor was among the distinguished personalities honoured this year for their contributions to their respective fields.

As he walked up to receive the award from President Droupadi Murmu, Mammootty greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi with folded hands before accepting the honour. The moment resonated strongly with admirers of the actor, many of whom viewed the recognition as a fitting tribute to one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated performers.

Over a career spanning more than 400 films, Mammootty has consistently reinvented himself across genres and languages. From critically acclaimed performances in films such as Mathilukal, Vidheyan and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar to recent successes including Bramayugam, Kannur Squad and Turbo, the actor has remained one of the most respected figures in Indian cinema.

The Padma Bhushan now joins a long list of accolades that includes multiple National Film Awards, Kerala State Film Awards and numerous honours from across the film industry.

Family Joins Mammootty For A Special Moment

One of the most striking aspects of the day was the presence of Mammootty’s family throughout the celebrations. His wife Sulfath, daughter Surumi, Dulquer Salmaan and Amal Sufiya were all present to witness the Padma Bhushan ceremony before accompanying him to meet the Prime Minister.

According to reports, Narendra Modi spent time interacting with both Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan during the visit. The photographs released later reflected the warmth of the interaction, with the family sharing smiles and conversations with the Prime Minister.

The images quickly gained traction online, with fans celebrating the rare moment that brought together two generations of one of Malayalam cinema’s most prominent families alongside the country’s political leadership.

Mammootty later reflected on the significance of the occasion, describing it as a deeply memorable day in his life and expressing gratitude for both the honour and the opportunity to share the moment with his loved ones.

The celebrations did not end there. Following the award ceremony and the meeting with the Prime Minister, Mammootty also attended a banquet hosted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, capping off a day filled with national recognition and personal milestones.

For an actor whose career has consistently pushed boundaries and set new benchmarks, the Padma Bhushan represents more than another accolade. It stands as recognition of a body of work that has influenced generations of filmmakers, actors and audiences across India.

Ranveer Singh Keeps a Low Profile During Visit to Hansal Mehtas Office

Ranveer Singh was clicked outside filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s office in Mumbai last night. The actor is set to star in Mehta’s son Jai Mehta’s upcoming film Pralay. While fans continue to await an official update on the project, Ranveer kept a low profile during his visit. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra was also seen at the same location.
A video shared by paparazzi accounts on social media showed the actor exiting the office dressed in an all-black ensemble comprising a T-shirt, blazer and trousers. He hid his face with a mask, put on dark sunglasses, and a black cap. The actor also avoided interacting with photographers gathered outside.
Talking about Pralay, the project will be directed by debutant filmmaker Jai Mehta, Hansal Mehta’s son. Although an official announcement is yet to be made, reports suggest that the post-apocalyptic zombie survival thriller is expected to go on floors in August this year. It has also been reported that the film is being mounted on a massive budget of Rs 300 crore. If true, it would mark the costliest solo venture of Ranveer Singh’s career.
Pralay comes on the heels of the blockbuster success of Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller featured Ranveer as an Indian operative who infiltrates Pakistan in a mission to dismantle its terror network.
