Rajkummar Raoâs Transformation As Ujjwal Nikam in Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story Sparks Early Buzz

Rajkummar Rao has consistently built a career defined by his ability to completely own his characters. If the initial response to the teaser of Prahaar – The Ujjwal Nikam Story is any indication, the actor appears set to deliver yet another standout performance that reinforces his reputation as one of the most compelling actors of his generation.

Currently attached to the theatrical prints of the film Cocktail 2, the Prahaar teaser has already started generating conversation. Much of the praise is directed towards Rajkummar’s physical and emotional transformation into the renowned public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. Industry observers and audiences alike have noted the authenticity he brings to the role, highlighting his screen presence, physicality, and a command over Marathi that adds a vital layer of credibility to his performance.

The teaser offers a glimpse into a high-stakes courtroom drama, driven by intense, powerful dialogues with Rajkummar firmly at the centre. For an actor known for immersing himself completely into every project, Prahaar seems to lean into his greatest strength: making audiences see the character before they see the star.

This project marks a notable return for Rajkummar to the courtroom drama genre. He previously garnered immense acclaim for his performance in Shahid, a role that earned him the National Film Award and established his standing in the industry. Over the years, he has successfully balanced critical acclaim with commercial success through memorable performances in films such as Newton, Stree, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Srikanth, and Mr. & Mrs. Mahi.

With Prahaar – The Ujjwal Nikam Story, he is poised to add a significant new chapter to his filmography. The teaser has succeeded in its primary goal, leaving audiences eager to see Rajkummar Rao step into one of the most challenging and significant roles of his career. Alongside Rajkummar, the film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, and Tarun Sharma in key roles.

âœWe Wish The Honour Had Come Earlierâ- Satish Shahs Cousin to Accept Padma Shri On His Behalf

Actor Satish Shah will receive his Padma Shri award posthumously today and his cousin Arvind Mamania will receive the honour from President Draupadi Murmu. Ahead of the ceremony, Mamania told HT that they wish this honour came to Shah when he was alive.
He said, “We have not yet come to terms with the shock (of his death). Seeing his wife every day keeps reminding us of the kind of person he was. Our home was filled with laughter and smiles; now, all of a sudden, the happiness has vanished. It’s a big vacuum. We are looking after her (Madhu Shah); she is precious to us too.”

He continued, “We wished the honour would come earlier, when he was alive, but nonetheless, we cannot change what has happened. My wish is that when I receive the award on his behalf, he watches us from above and blesses us. Once I’m back in Mumbai, we plan to have a small celebration in his honour.”
Veteran actor Satish Shah passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. Clarifying his cause of death, his Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-star had earlier said that he passed away due to a heart attack.

He said, “He was at home, having lunch, and then he just… passed away. I wanted to clarify this because some reports are saying it was due to kidney problems. The kidney issue had already been dealt with; it was under control. Unfortunately, it was a sudden cardiac arrest that took him away.”
Satish Shah made his debut in 1970 with the film Bhagwan Parshuram. He went on to do several films and shows in a career spanning over five decades. He is best known for his roles in the 1984 sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi. He is also known for playing the goofy and sarcastic Indravadhan Sarabhai in the show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, which also starred Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan and Rajesh Kumar. Some of his other memorable roles are in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Fanaa, Om Shanti Om,  Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, among others.
