Rooh will be directed by Mayank Sharma, the creator and director of the acclaimed Prime Video Breathe franchise. The film is written by Mayank Sharma and Vishal Kapoor, the latter of whom is known for his work on Lapachhapi and Chhorii. Produced by Vikram Khakhar and Sunny Khanna under the Vicked Films Productions banner, the project aims to offer a unique blend of new-age horror, music, and emotion.

Discussing his return to the genre, Emraan had shared his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “Rooh is a film that immediately connected with me because it brings together new-age horror, emotion and music in a very powerful way. This is a space that audiences have always associated with me, and the world Mayank is creating feels intense, emotional and cinematic. That is what excited me the most about Rooh, and I am really looking forward to audiences experiencing it on the big screen.”

Director Mayank Sharma also expressed his vision for the film, mentioning that he wanted to craft something that transcends typical genre tropes. He said, “As someone who has always loved the horror genre… Rooh is my attempt to create a film that goes beyond fear. It’s emotionally layered and immersed with unsettling atmosphere and presented with contemporary cinematic treatment… I’m thrilled to collaborate with Emraan for this deeply layered character. My entire team and I hope to bring audiences a truly unique and unforgettable horror experience.”

Beyond the narrative, the film places a strong emphasis on music, which is intended to be a major commercial driver. The production is also being developed with global ambitions, incorporating international creative and technical collaborations to enhance its visual scale and overall cinematic experience.

Chiranjeevi Meets Samantha Ruth Prabhu Raj Nidimoru and Praises Maa Inti Bangaram

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and her husband, writer-creator Raj Nidimoru, visited Megastar Chiranjeevi on Monday evening. It was a warm and celebratory meeting. Maa Inti Bangaram director BV Nandini Reddy also accompanied the couple.

Chiranjeevi and his wife, Surekha, had kind words for the entire team. The Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu actor appreciated the film’s success, and the team was delighted by his praise. Samantha took to social media shortly afterwards and wrote, “Thank you for your graciousness and support. The entire team of Maa Inti Bangaram is truly elated by your acknowledgement.”

Here’s an interesting piece of trivia. Raj originally developed The Family Man with Chiranjeevi in mind. When the project did not materialise with the megastar, it eventually evolved into the acclaimed series audiences know today.

As for Maa Inti Bangaram, the action drama is holding steady at the box office. For a female-led film, its success has provided a much-needed boost to the distribution sector.

Shraddha Kapoors Never-before-seen Avatar Takes Centre Stage in Eethas Teaser

The makers have officially unveiled the teaser of Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha. The film is based on the life of legendary Maharashtrian Lavani artiste Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar.

The teaser opens with a large crowd gathered to watch a Lavani performance. While dancers take the stage, the audience grows restless, repeatedly demanding to see Eetha. “Eetha ko bulao!” they shout, insisting that they have paid to watch her perform.

As the crowd becomes increasingly impatient, it is revealed that Eetha is backstage, in the middle of giving birth. However, despite the concerns of those around her, she refuses to stay away from the stage. When people urge her to rest, she delivers a powerful line: “Padi padi mari toh bechari kehlaungi, naachte hue mari toh misaal ban jaaungi.” (If I die in helplessness, I’ll be called a poor soul. If I die dancing, I’ll become a legend.)
Determined as ever, Eetha walks onto the stage and begins performing, drawing thunderous applause from the crowd. The teaser then offers glimpses into her extraordinary journey, showcasing her iconic dance performances, the admiration she commanded and the challenges she faced. It also highlights the film’s grand scale, lavish sets, elaborate costumes and visually rich recreations of the era.

Eetha is inspired by the life of legendary Tamasha artiste Vithabai Narayangaonkar, one of the most celebrated names in Marathi folk theatre. The film is directed by Laxman Utekar and also stars Randeep Hooda and Anant Joshi, among others. Produced by Maddock Films, it will be released theatrically on August 28.
