Taapsee Pannu has consistently been one of the actresses in the industry to speak openly about the challenges women face in cinema. From pay disparity to the shelf life of actresses, the actress has often addressed issues that continue to exist in both Bollywood and the South film industry. In a recent interview, she once again spoke candidly about ageism in the entertainment world and how opportunities for actresses tend to shrink with age, unlike their male counterparts.

Talking to Times Entertainment, she shared, “By the time you make a mark, you’ve crossed 30. Then they say you’re not young enough to be featured in a rom-com. So even till date, there are so many times when I feel like, ‘But you don’t really need a younger person for this role.’ Yet they still want to go younger. It doesn’t really happen the same way with men. Of course, we can all see that. But yes, ageism is a big thing.”

She continued, “Even in the South, it used to happen with me. The moment I was cast opposite a relatively senior actor, the younger actors didn’t want to work with me. They were like, ‘Oh no, she’s been opposite that actor, so now…’ You dare say that about Shah Rukh Khan. You know, an actress’s life changes after working with Shah Rukh Khan. So that taboo is not here, but that taboo was there for me when I worked in the South.”

Meanwhile, Taapsee was last seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Assi, along with Kani Kusruti, Revathy, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra and Mohammed Zeeshan. The actress will next be seen in Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan and Gandhari. 

Dua Lipa and Callum Turner reportedly celebrated their wedding once again with a grand ceremony in Italy, surrounded by close friends, family members and several well-known names from the entertainment industry. While the couple tied the knot privately in London earlier, they hosted a larger and more lavish celebration in Sicily over the weekend.

According to reports, legendary singer Elton John performed at the wedding and serenaded the newlyweds with his iconic track Your Song. The emotional performance reportedly took place as fireworks lit up the night sky following the ceremony. 

Dua and Callum were seen arriving at the venue in a Mercedes-Maybach Class V before the festivities began. The ceremony is said to have taken place in Palermo, Sicily. For the special occasion, Dua Lipa carried an elegant bouquet featuring peonies, lily of the valley and hyacinths. Videos and photos from the celebrations showed guests joining the couple on the dance floor after the ceremony, turning the evening into a glamorous star-studded party.

Several celebrities reportedly attended the wedding festivities, including Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Joe Alwyn, George Daniel, Donatella Versace and Troye Sivan. 

For her wedding ceremony, Dua wore a custom white gown by Bottega Veneta. 

As per Vanity Fair, the wedding menu was curated by Michelin-star chef Tony Lo Coco, who reportedly served an elaborate spread of Sicilian cuisine. Another video showed her dancing her heart out from the balcony.
