Director SS Rajamouli is making his upcoming globe-trotting action adventure, Varanasi, as one of the biggest cinematic spectacles in Indian cinema. Starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Mahesh Babu, the film unit is now gearing up for a crucial month-long shooting schedule in Hyderabad. According to sources, Mahesh Babu is set for a solo high-octane episode in this schedule.

Mahesh Babu’s solo act

In the upcoming schedule, Mahesh Babu will shoot a series of intense solo action episodes designed on a massive scale. Sources reveal that the superstar has been rigorously prepping up for the demanding schedule for several months. The superstar had also undergone physical transformation to achieve the desired look for these sequences. Interestingly, Rajamouli may film a few striking bare-body shots of Mahesh Babu, which are said to be a key part of the action blocks. The director is aiming to present Mahesh in a new avatar unseen hitherto. With this extensive schedule, nearly 70 per cent of the film’s shoot is expected to be wrapped up, bringing the ambitious project closer to completion.

Rajamouli springs a surprise!

What has surprised many in the industry is Rajamouli’s evolving filmmaking approach during the making of Varanasi. The demanding nature of the film’s scale prompted the director to adopt a more balanced and efficient shooting strategy. Unlike his earlier films where schedules often stretched continuously for long periods, Rajamouli kept his cast and crew psychologically and physically fresh by taking frequent breaks between the shoots.

Insiders say Rajamouli is personally ensuring that every major actor’s comfort, energy levels, and preparation time are being taken into consideration before finalizing schedules. The thoughtful planning is helping the cast deliver stronger performances. Industry observers believe this marks a completely new phase in Rajamouli’s career, as he strategically positions the project not just for Indian audiences, but as a truly global cinematic event.

Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar is mourning the loss of his mother, Mohini Mani. Several members from the film fraternity and politics visited Ajith’s residence in Chennai and offered condolences. On Saturday night, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay (aka Thalapathy Vijay) paid his condolence to Ajith. But what grabbed all headlines was actress Trisha Krishnan accompanying Vijay during his visit.

Several photos and videos emerged on social media show Vijay and Trisha paying their last respects to Ajith’s family on the loss of his mother. While Vijay, in the capacity of Chief Minister, was surrounded by his security team, Trisha too, who shared screen with Ajith, paid her last respects. Vijay hugged Ajith and later entered the house and spent time with the grieving family.

Yet, it is still unclear whether Vijay and Trisha arrived together as some clips show both of them arriving separately but appear as she arrived minutes before Vijay reached the residence.
