The producers of Raaka are reportedly planning to approach the Delhi High Court to safeguard the distinct identity of Allu Arjun’s character in the film. According to reports, the initiative aims to secure exclusive rights over specific character traits, stylized gestures, and signature mannerisms associated with the actor’s role. If the legal strategy materializes successfully, it could help protect Allu Arjun’s unique body language, physical expressions, and trademark dialogue delivery from unauthorized commercial usage. In today’s cinema landscape, these elements are increasingly viewed as valuable commercial and branding assets.

The move reportedly comes in response to the widespread unauthorized use of actor personas by businesses and digital creators. Following the massive success of Pushpa, Allu Arjun’s signature beard-stroking gesture and catchphrases were extensively used across platforms and promotional campaigns without official permission. With Raaka, the makers are said to be keen on preventing brand dilution and unauthorized exploitation of the film’s iconic visual identity. The production house is also reportedly looking at stronger mechanisms to curb digital misuse and protect intellectual property linked to the character.

The Hollywood precedent

In Hollywood, personality rights and likeness protection have long been recognized as serious legal matters. Actors such as Tom Cruise and Arnold Schwarzenegger have frequently invoked publicity rights to safeguard their image and screen identity. One of the most cited examples remains Vanna White’s successful lawsuit against Samsung after the company used a robot resembling her iconic stance in an advertisement. Raaka already generating massive buzz

Meanwhile, Raaka is already witnessing strong demand in the Hindi market. Long before Pushpa became a nationwide phenomenon, Allu Arjun had built a loyal fan base in North India through Hindi-dubbed versions of films like Sarrainodu and DJ, which became hugely popular on satellite television and YouTube. Directed by Atlee Kumar, Raaka is a sci-fi entertainer featuring Deepika Padukone in a pivotal role. Reports suggest that Allu Arjun will be seen in a dual role in the film. The title poster of Raaka was unveiled on April 8 on the occasion of the actor’s birthday. Most of the film’s production has reportedly taken place on specially erected sets in Mumbai.
