The Last Tenant an Unreleased Film Starring Irrfan Khan and Vidya Balan Now Released on YouTube

Marking the death anniversary of the late actor, Irrfan Khan, a new unreleased film, which goes by the name The Last Tenant, now released on YouTube. Written and directed by Sarthak Dasgupta and produced by Neena and Sarthak Dasgupta, the film features a young Irrfan alongside Vidya Balan, offering a unique glimpse into their early performances. According to sources, this film was shot nearly 25 years ago.

This film also marks a significant milestone in the acting career of Vidya Balan, as it is reportedly believed to be among Vidya Balan’s earliest works, and might possibly even be her first film. The film also marks the only on-screen collaboration of Vidya Balan with Irrfan Khan. With the film being unreleased for almost 25 years, it finally premiered on April 29, honouring the late actor, Irrfan Khan, and offering a rare and unexpected cinematic experience to the audience.

As per a report from The Hindustan Times, “The Last Tenant remained shelved for over two decades after its original footage was lost, leaving the film in limbo. Sarthak Dasgupta, who both produced and directed the project, had all but given up hope – until a recent discovery changed everything. He managed to recover a VHS copy of the film, finally making it possible for this long-lost project to be restored and shared with audiences.”

The director, Sarthak Dasgupta, recalling the film’s journey on its release, said, “I was a novice with everything to learn. I hadn’t assisted anyone. I hadn’t been to film school. There was no Amazon to order books from. No YouTube to watch tutorials on. Fuelled by pure intuition, I had embarked on a journey, still unsure if it could become a career. Releasing this film now, as a tribute to Irrfan, makes it even more emotional. It feels like revisiting a forgotten dream.”

The Odyssey Trailer Starring Matt Damon Tom Holland Anne Hathaway Robert Pattinson Unveiled

Directed by the Legendary filmmaker Christopher Nolan, Universal Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for The Odyssey, offering a cinematic experience into the Greek world. Based on the adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic, this film revolves around the challenging journey of Odysseus, which he embarks upon after the Trojan war, to reunite with his wife Penelope and son Telemachus.

Soon after, the makers took to their social media handles, sharing the poster and trailer of The Odyssey and captioned it, “Defy the Gods. Watch the New Trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and experience the film in cinemas 17 7 26. Releasing in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.”

As soon as the trailer surfaced online, it started to receive an overwhelming number of responses from its fans. One of them wrote, “We got Peter Parker and Bruce Wayne together in a film before GTA 6.” While, another wrote, “Another History By Christopher Nolan Is Loading.” One commented, “Christopher Nolan once said :- don’t understand it , just feel it.” Another commented, “THIS is how you cut a trailer! ðŸ¤¯ Way better than the last one! I’m finally SO HYPED for this movie! July 2026 can’t come soon enough… LET’S GO!” One mentioned, “THE GOAT has returned.”

The film has a runtime of two minutes and 32 seconds, while the trailer captures the moments of the challenging journey the main characters have to embark on so that they can reunite again. It also offers glimpses of Antinous (Robert Pattinson), one of Penelope’s suitors, and mythological threats Odysseus encounters, like the whirlpool, the Cyclops, and the nymph Calypso (Charlize Theron).

The Odyssey, directed by the legendary filmmaker Christopher Nolan, is scheduled to release on July 17, 2026. And, apart from Matt, Anne, and Tom, the movie also features an ensemble cast including Zendaya, Mia Goth, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Himesh Patel, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal and John Leguizamo in other key roles.

While the cinematography of the movie is done by Oscar-winning Hoyte van Hoytema, the music is composed by Oscar-winning Ludwig Goransson.

Michael Jackson Ranks As The 1 Artist in The World on Streaming 17 Years After His Death

Michael, a biopic based on the life of Michael Jackson, has not only revived the nostalgia of people, but also successfully broken several box office records, bringing back MJ’s music from the ’70s and ’80s into the spotlight once again. Surprisingly, since the release of the film last week, the King of Pop’s songs like Beat It, Billie Jean, Bad, and Thriller have once again started to rise in the streaming charts. And it is quite intriguing that the popularity of Michael Jackson’s songs has found a way back to us, making him the number 1 artist in the world yet again, 17 years after his death, surpassing other contemporary artists.

As per Hindustan Times reports, the data analytics agency Kworb prepares the Global Digital Artist Ranking every month, ranking singers and performers based on how many times their songs are streamed across major platforms. And according to the latest edition of the rankings, for May 2026, “Michael Jackson is at the top with a staggering 11157 points. Michael leads Justin Bieber, who is in the second spot, by almost 5000 points. K-pop group BTS, in the third spot, is further behind with just 4397 points. Michael’s dominance is such that he is the number one artist on all but one platform, leading comfortably on Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube, Shazam, and Deezer, while only narrowly trailing Bieber on Spotify.”

Michael Jackson securing the first spot even after 17 years of his passing away is direct proof of his immense popularity, even among the younger generations. “He not only leads Justin Bieber and BTS, but also the newest sensation, Bad Bunny, who sits in the 4th spot with 4085 points. Taylor Swift, widely regarded as MJ’s successor, is at number 5 with 3100 points. Of course, the points for any artist peak around the release of any new single or album. But even after accounting for peaks, Michael’s 11K points stack up well against the top performers of today.” Says a report as per Hindustan Times.
