Filmfare had earlier reported that the makers of Ram Charan’s upcoming film, Peddi, were eyeing June 4 as the release date after Yash-starrer Toxic vacated the slot. The development has now been made official. Putting an end to all fan theories and guesswork, the makers of Peddi announced June 4 as the film’s new release date. The announcement has certainly brought back excitement among fans.
At one point, the makers of Peddi were also considering releasing the film around June 25, around the same time Akkineni Akhil’s Lenin was slated to release. However, Ram Charan, a good friend of Akhil, was keen to avoid a box office clash. Since the majority of the work on Peddi has been wrapped up, the makers felt June 4 would be an ideal date. It is a strategic decision that avoids a clash with one film while occupying the slot left vacant by another biggie. An early June release also places Peddi perfectly within the summer holiday window.
Meanwhile, the makers recently completed filming a lavish special number featuring Ram Charan and Shruti Haasan, composed by AR Rahman on an extravagant set in Hyderabad. According to the team, the vibrant song is expected to be one of Peddi’s standout highlights.
Ram Charan’s reinvention for Peddi could be one of his most physically and spiritually demanding transformations. Recently, the film’s director Buchi Babu Sana revealed that the actor trained continuously for eight months. Charan’s authentic pehelwan physique is already one of the most talked-about aspects of Peddi. For the part, the actor went beyond gym training and completely internalised the character’s arc. From body language and an intense rugged look to fully embodying the role, Charan embraced every aspect to make the transformation feel organic. Tipped to be a rustic sports drama infused with intense action and strong emotions, Peddi is set to unveil Ram Charan’s intense side.

Nandamuri Balakrishna is set to collaborate with director Koratala Siva for his 112th film. The movie marks a major union in Tollywood. Many filmmakers have attempted to channel Balakrishna’s post-Akhanda era energy, and Koratala Siva is the latest to join that prestigious list.
After the success of Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1 in 2024, Koratala is gearing up for another large-scale project. The announcement poster of the new film, unveiled on Friday, carries a strong message. It states that “power meets purpose” and “mass becomes a movement.” Given that Koratala’s protagonists are often powerful figures, expect the word “power” to carry deeper meaning in this film as well.
Balakrishna commands a loyal following among the masses. His screen presence in action cinema remains formidable. Koratala, meanwhile, is known for understanding the pulse of the audience, having delivered several commercial hits with strong social themes. He followed it up with Bhagavanth Kesari and Veera Simha Reddy. His 111th film is directed by Gopichand Malineni and features Nayanthara as the female lead. An intriguing project with director Vivek Athreya is also reportedly in the pipeline. Going by his present line-up, the Nandamuri star continues to give younger superstars tough competition.
The Balakrishna-Koratala Siva collaboration has long been anticipated. Now that it is finally happening, with reports suggesting a Sankranthi 2027 release, excitement is understandably high. Koratala was earlier expected to move to Devara 2 after Jr NTR’s Dragon, but with no immediate developments, he has now shifted focus to this project.
