The Indian film industry is currently witnessing a phenomenal run at the box office, thanks to Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge. With Ranveer Singh leading the charge, the movie has sparked intense speculation about a potential third part. Now, Rakesh Bedi, who plays the role of Jameel Jamali, has addressed the growing buzz around Dhurandhar 3.
Rakesh Bedi has been receiving praise for his portrayal of Jameel Jamali, a character initially introduced as the father of Sara Arjun’s character. In a major plot twist, Jamali is revealed to be an Indian spy operating deep within Pakistan. Talking about this revelation, Bedi shared in an interview with Zoom, “It was a highlight for the audience, but for us, it was like just another scene. We knew that it would create a ripple.”

As fans flood social media with demands for more, Bedi offered a grounded perspective on whether the story will continue. He said, “I don’t think a third part will happen.” However, he didn’t rule out the future of the brand, adding, “But Dhurandhar is a franchise, and it can be made with some other actors at any given point of time. The story ends with the spy going back to his nation.”
The franchise’s success is nothing short of historic. The first Dhurandhar, released in December 2025, earned approximately Rs 1300 crore globally. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released in March 2026, shattered even more records. It became the first Hindi film to cross the Rs 1100 crore mark domestically and has collected over Rs 1700 crore worldwide to date.
Bedi attributes this massive success to the momentum built by the first film. He explained, “Since Dhurandhar Part 1 was such a big hit, hence, the audience’s perspective to see Dhurandhar Part 2 completely changed. You are not going to see the film and decide how it was. You are going to see a film with the mindset that it is a great film because its prequel was also great.”
Even in its fourth week, the sequel remains steady at the box office, holding its own against new releases like Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla.
