The anticipation around Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming epic, Ramayana, has reached a fever pitch. Positioned as one of the most ambitious cinematic projects of 2026, the film is being mounted on a massive global scale. In a move that has thrilled fans across the world, producer Namit Malhotra has officially confirmed that a special glimpse titled Rama will be unveiled on April 2. The announcement was made on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, observed on March 27. Taking to his social media, Namit Malhotra shared a heartfelt note reflecting on the responsibility of bringing this timeless story to the big screen. He explained that the project is being handled with deep devotion and sincerity to ensure the spirit and scale of the original epic are maintained.
In his post, Malhotra wrote, “Shubh Rama Navami. Thank you for your faith and patience. On 2nd April, Hanuman Jayanti, we take the first step together. #RamayanaByNamitMalhotra In cinemas, globally- Diwali 2026 & 2027.” The upcoming reveal on Hanuman Jayanti is set to be a grand world reveal designed as a global celebration for fans. This follows the massive frenzy sparked by the film’s first look, which featured a multi-city launch in India and a high-profile showcase at Times Square.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features a stellar ensemble cast. Ranbir Kapoor takes on the role of Lord Ram, with Sai Pallavi playing Sita. Joining them are Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.
The project is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios alongside the Oscar-winning VFX house DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The two-part epic is being prepared for a worldwide IMAX release. Part 1 is scheduled to hit theatres during Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027. This cinematic journey aims to blend cutting-edge technology with emotional storytelling, offering a fresh yet faithful retelling of a heritage cherished by billions for nearly 5,000 years.
