Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan has officially addressed the growing rumours regarding his acting endeavours. Contrary to what his fans have been hoping for, the actor-politician’s office released a statement on Monday to clear the air. It states that Pawan Kalyan has not taken up any new film commitments recently. In the near future, we won’t be hearing anything on the acting front from the Tollywood superstar.

The official note from Pawan Kalyan clarified that speculations about ongoing projects are not accurate. Despite the media-fuelled buzz that he is in talks with two filmmakers, there are no immediate plans to commence new films. His team stated that any developments will be communicated through official channels when ready.
Pawan Kalyan has witnessed a remarkably busy year, breaking his typical hiatus-heavy schedule with three movie releases. He accelerated his cinematic output, starting with the period epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu in July 2025. This was swiftly followed by the record-breaking gangster drama, They Call Him OG, in September. Most recently, the mass entertainer Ustaad Bhagat Singh arrived in March 2026.

Regarding the crazy sequel to They Call Him OG, (OG 2), the office stated that any update will be shared by the actor himself personally at the right time. OG, co-starring Emraan Hashmi and Priyanka Mohan, was released amid unprecedented hype. Purely in terms of the buzz, it was in the company of event movies like RRR. In the Telugu States, the Sujeeth directorial had a blasting box-office opening.
The actor’s latest announcement follows the recent release of Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Directed by Harish Shankar, the film was released on March 19 and is still struggling to find firm footing at the box office. Perhaps, a direct clash with Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has proved to be costly.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar and led by Ranveer Singh is continuing its strong run at the box office, carrying forward the momentum built by its first part. When Dhurandhar released in December 2025, it created a storm, and now the sequel is living up to that legacy. Since hitting theatres on March 19 2026, the film has made a massive impact, even though it saw a noticeable dip on its first Monday. Despite that drop, it has already crossed Rs 500 crore net in India, Rs 600 crore gross, and touched Rs 800 crore worldwide, firmly establishing itself as a blockbuster.

After a powerful opening weekend, the film experienced the expected weekday slowdown. On Monday, March 23, the collections dropped by over 40 percent, with the spy drama earning around Rs 65 crore across more than 20,000 shows, as per Sacnilk. Even with the dip, the numbers remain strong and show the film’s solid hold at the box office.
The film had already built a strong base even before its official release. It earned Rs 43 crore from paid previews on March 18, followed by an impressive Rs 102.55 crore on its opening day. It collected Rs 80.72 crore on day two, and then saw a big jump over the weekend, earning Rs 113 crore on Saturday and Rs 114.85 crore on Sunday. With this, its total India net collection stands at Rs 519.12 crore, with gross collections at Rs 619.76 crore. Adding Rs 210 crore from overseas markets, the film’s worldwide total has reached Rs 829.76 crore.

The story continues the journey of Ranveer Singh’s character, an Indian undercover agent operating under the name Hamza. While the first part focused on his infiltration into the dangerous Lyari gang and the assassination of its leader Rehman Dakait, the sequel takes the narrative forward as Hamza tightens his control over the underworld and its political links. Alongside Ranveer, the film features Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Arjun Rampal with Yami Gautam appearing in a special cameo.
