Dhurandhar 2, which was released in theatres everywhere with the evening premiere shows of March 18, is the No. 1 choice of movie-goers in the Telugu States. Despite Ustaad Bhagat Singh’s massive release, the Bollywood movie is in pole position.

The sequel earned a net of Rs 28 Cr in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh put together in the first three days (as of the end of Saturday, March 21). On Sunday, trade pundits have estimated, it must have added a double-digit figure to its kitty. At this rate, the action thriller is expected to net one billion rupees in the Telugu States (both Hindi and Telugu versions combined) by the end of its full theatrical run.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh was released alongside Ranveer Singh’s movie on March 19, giving rise to the social media narrative that Tollywood Singh and Bollywood Singh (read Ranveer) were locked into a battle. In the end, the latter took over. As per trade analysts, by the afternoon of Day 3, Dhurandhar 2 started trumping Pawan Kalyan’s movie with full force. On Sunday, this continued.
Before the movie’s release, Mythri Movie Makers’ Naveen Yerneni acknowledged that Dhurandhar 2 was going to be a big force in Hyderabad and a few other urban centres. “However, in other centres, Pawan Kalyan garu’s movie is going to be the first choice,” he openly said. So, while the makers of UBS didn’t totally dismiss the craze that Dhurandhar 2 has been enjoying, they did underestimate its unprecedented relevance. “Dhurandhar is a storm. Toxic would have been a bigger competition, though. Beyond Hyderabad, Vizag and Vijayawada, Pawan Kalyan’s films will always be unbeatable,” Yerneni said.
The stupendous success of Dhurandhar 2 in the Telugu States is momentous. In the recent past, only two other Bollywood movies made a thorough impact: Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.

Kareena Kapoor Khan has recently opened up about grandfather Raj Kapoor’s legendary RK Studios. Established in 1948, RK Studios was an iconic film studio founded in 1948 by Raj Kapoor. It served as the creative heart of the Kapoor legacy and a hub for some of Hindi cinema’s most memorable films.

Some time back, some reports stated that the studios are being revived. However, Kareena quashed the rumours and called them untrue. Kareena said, “That’s just not true. It was even being discussed in our family group, and everyone was like, ‘This isn’t happening.”
While opening up about it, Kareena also admitted that fans are eager for the new generation of Kapoors to revive the studio. Calling Ranbir Kapoor the “the best actor in India,” she said that he is currently focused on acting. She revealed that her cousins, and her sister Karisma Kapoor are all busy and reviving the studios won’t happen right away. “It is heartbreaking, but it’s not happening,” Kareena mentioned. She further clarified that she doesn’t envision herself stepping into such a role, as she does not think from a director’s or producer’s perspective.
RK Studios is known for popular films like Barsaat (1949), Awaara (1951), Mera Naam Joker (1970), Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), Prem Rog (1982) and more.

On the professional front, Kareena is currently busy working on Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra. Some behind-the-scenes clicks from the movie were revealed some time back. Opening up about the film, Kareena mentioned, “Trying to do something different every year. Our film (Daayra) is topical, and I’m really looking forward to it.” She revealed, “I am hoping to do something really different this year, maybe a good show, maybe a miniseries.” The actress hasn’t opened up about other projects yet.
