BTS Smash Sales Records With Arirang Cross Nearly 4 Million Copies In A Day

BTS are once again rewriting the rules of global pop dominance, and this time, they’ve done it at record speed. With the release of their much-awaited album Arirang, the group has shattered their own first-week sales record within just a single day.  a feat that only reinforces their unmatched global influence.
According to Hanteo Chart, Arirang sold a staggering 3,981,507 copies on its very first day of release, instantly surpassing BTS’s previous first-week record of 3.37 million copies set by Map of the Soul: 7. Arirang marks the group’s grand comeback following a nearly four-year hiatus during which members fulfilled their mandatory military service. The return has been nothing short of explosive, with the album dominating charts worldwide and reaffirming BTS’s position at the very top of the global music industry.

Beyond the numbers, the scale of BTS’s comeback is equally staggering.
The group recently kicked off their return with a massive concert in Seoul, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans and millions more online.
This level of engagement highlights not just their popularity, but the cultural phenomenon they continue to be.
With Arirang, BTS aren’t just breaking records,  they’re setting new ones.

Kamal Haasan Shares Update on His Film With Rajinikanth

Two of the most talked-about Tamil projects in recent times have been Rajinikanth’s Thalaivar 173, directed by Cibi Chakravarthi and backed by Kamal Haasan, and the tentatively titled KH x RK, helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar. While both films have largely remained under wraps, Kamal has now offered a crucial update on the latter.

Speaking to reporters outside an airport, Kamal revealed that filming for KH x RK will commence only after the Tamil Nadu assembly elections conclude. The actor-politician, who is actively involved in campaigning for his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam, indicated that his current focus remains on political commitments before returning to cinema.

The update effectively places the film’s production timeline in the post-election window, adding to the anticipation surrounding what is being seen as a landmark collaboration between two of Indian cinema’s most enduring stars.

A nostalgic tone and a power-packed team

The recently unveiled promo for KH x RK has already sparked conversation among fans. The glimpse hints at a film steeped in vintage flair, with visual cues such as retro-styled costumes, a classic Mercedes-Benz, and a distinct old-school tonal quality in its music and staging. While the makers have yet to reveal details about the story or supporting cast, the teaser suggests a stylish blend of nostalgia and mass appeal.

The film is being produced by Inban Udhayanidhi under the banner of Red Giant Movies, with Arjun Durai and M Shenbaga Moorthy serving as co-producers. The project has further gained traction due to the involvement of a strong technical team.

Music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, whose collaborations with both Rajinikanth and Nelson have previously delivered chart-topping soundtracks. The cinematography is handled by veteran Rajiv Menon, while editing is by R Nirmal. The film’s visual world is shaped by art director DRK Kiran, with costumes designed by Pallavi Singh.

Sharing his excitement about the project, Kamal wrote on X, “A Special reunion with my friend Rajinikanth. Every great journey deserves another chapter! My best to Nelson Dilpkumar and Anirudh – and to Red Giant Movies for powering this collaboration.”

The film marks a significant reunion for Kamal and Rajinikanth, whose on-screen collaborations in the past have attained cult status among fans. With Nelson at the helm, known for his distinctive blend of dark humour and commercial storytelling, expectations are naturally high.

As for Thalaivar 173, directed by Cibi Chakravarthi, details remain tightly guarded, further adding to the intrigue around Rajinikanth’s upcoming slate. Together, both projects signal a phase where legacy stars are returning with ambitious, large-scale ventures that aim to bridge nostalgia with contemporary filmmaking.

With KH x RK now eyeing a post-election start, all eyes are on how this ambitious collaboration shapes up once the cameras begin to roll.
