BTS End Their Nearly Four-year Hiatus With Arirang Marking a Defining Global Comeback

The wait is finally over, and it feels almost unreal. After almost four years of anticipation and longing, BTS has officially returned, marking their homecoming with their fifth studio album, Arirang.
The 14-track album includes Body to Body, Hooligan, Aliens, FYA, 2.0, No. 29 (Interlude), Swim, Merry Go Round, NORMAL, Like Animals, They Don’t Know ’bout Us, One More Night, Please, and Into the Sun.
Along with the album, the group has also released the music video for their lead single, Swim.
Set aboard a ship drifting through an endless sea, the video follows a woman navigating moments of doubt and emotional struggle. The ship becomes a space of healing, with the seven members standing by her as steady, reassuring presences. As the story unfolds, she gradually finds the strength to move forward, turning the journey into one of reflection and recovery. Lili Reinhart stars in the video, with Tanu Muino bringing a cinematic vision to life.
Arirang draws from the traditional Korean folk song of the same name, long associated with themes of longing, distance, and resilience. That emotional core runs through the album, as BTS reflect on their journey and identity as a group that began in South Korea and grew into a global phenomenon.
The members, consisting of RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook and V, have consistently woven their own stories into music, expressing an authenticity shaped by their journey from boyhood into youth.
The first half of the album sets a powerful tone, from Body to Body, a roaring anthem to celebrate with fans at live shows, to Hooligan, which traces their trailblazing journey. It continues with Aliens, which captures BTS’ unique identity and aspirations reflected in how they engage with the world, signalling their fiery return through FYA, and leading into the group’s present moment of growth and transformation in 2.0.
At the heart of the album, the interlude No. 29 features the resonant tolling of the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok. What follows is a vast emotional landscape: the resolve to move forward through the tides of life (Swim), the steadfastness to endure life’s endless cycles (Merry Go Round), and deeply personal yet universally resonant emotions experienced both on and off stage (Normal).
The latter half also captures the drive to live life fully and freely (Like Animals), the confidence of simply being themselves (They don’t know ’bout us), and profound infatuation (One More Night), before concluding with a wholehearted vow of commitment (Please, Into the Sun).

RM is credited on every track, excluding the interlude, while Suga and J-hope contributed to multiple tracks, including Body to Body, Merry Go Round, and NORMAL. Jimin participated in They don’t know ’bout us and Into the Sun, while V contributed to 2.0 and Into the Sun. Jungkook also played a key role in the creation of four tracks, including Hooligan.
Additionally, contributing to the album’s sound are Diplo, Ryan Tedder, Mike WiLL Made-It, Flume, Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), El Guincho and JPEGMAFIA.
Meanwhile, in celebration of Arirang, BTS will hold BTS: The Comeback Live | Arirang, a global live performance streaming on Netflix on March 21 at 8:00 PM KST. Heralded as the most anticipated album of the year, Arirang is available on streaming platforms worldwide now.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge Storms Past 100-crore Mark on Day 1

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 or Dhurandhar: The Revenge has exploded at the box office right from day one, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark with ease. What makes it even more impressive is that this came despite multiple show delays and cancellations across regions during previews and release day. The film still managed to collect around Rs 102 crore in India, making it a massive jump from the first part, which had opened at Rs 27 crore.

Most of the film’s business came from the Hindi version, which alone contributed over Rs 99 crore. The regional versions added smaller numbers, with Telugu bringing in a couple of crores, while Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam chipped in modest figures. Kannada and Malayalam in fact faced technical issues and couldn’t even run paid previews, which affected their opening totals.

The buzz had already started building a day earlier through paid previews, where the film earned around Rs 43 crore from thousands of shows across the country. Director Aditya Dhar also shared a heartfelt note, apologising for the inconvenience and explaining how much the film means to the team. Even with the initial glitches, the audience turnout remained strong.

On its first official day, the film ran across more than 21,000 shows and recorded close to 60 percent occupancy. When combined with preview numbers, the total has already crossed Rs 145 crore net. With the Eid holiday period ahead and strong traction overseas as well, the film is expected to have a huge opening weekend, with trade predictions going as high as Rs 500 crore in India.

The release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has not only set the box office on fire but has also brought out the most wholesome displays of family support. While fans across the country are flocking to theatres, leading man Ranveer Singh’s mother, Anju Bhavnani, recently stole the spotlight by proving she is undoubtedly her son’s biggest cheerleader. Attending a special screening of the film, Anju Bhavnani arrived dressed in a manner that spoke volumes of her pride. She was clicked wearing a black customized Dhurandhar T-shirt, which featured powerful visuals of Ranveer from the movie.

She completed her look with a stylish black jacket. The image of Ranveer’s mother in her fan-girl gear quickly began circulating online, winning the hearts of fans who appreciated the sweet gesture. The family support didn’t stop there. This follows a similar appearance by Ranveer’s sister, Ritika Bhavnani, who was previously seen wearing a similar customised jacket that went viral on social media platforms.

When it comes to the box office, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is making history. The film has joined the elite league of blockbusters like Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, KGF: Chapter 2, and Pushpa 2: The Rule by crossing the Rs 100 crore mark on its very first day. Opening on March 19, the film reportedly earned Rs 100 crore net, marking the biggest opening in the history of Hindi cinema.

With an estimated gross of Rs 170 crore including premiere shows, the film is already eyeing the Rs 1,000 crore milestone. If it maintains this pace, Ranveer could become the fastest Bollywood actor to clock Rs 2,000 crore at the box office, surpassing records held by stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas. Industry stalwarts including Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Kartik Aaryan, and Sidharth Malhotra have also taken to social media to praise Ranveer’s stellar performance.
