Sidharth Malhotra is set to reunite with his mentor Karan Johar for a new project. According to recent reports, the duo is in talks to collaborate on an emotionally intense drama that will explore the complexities of relationships. This film will mark their seventh major collaboration together since Sidharth’s debut.
The upcoming project is expected to be directed by Sharan Sharma, who has previously directed films like Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020) and Mr & Mrs Mahi (2024). This reunion comes two years after Sidharth and Karan’s last joint venture, the 2024 action thriller Yodha.

Sources suggest that the studio is very keen on bringing Sidharth on board for this specific subject. A source told Midday, “The studio is eager to work with Sidharth again and believes the subject aligns well with his persona. He liked the concept when it was shared last year. He gave a verbal nod then, wanting to read the script before a formal commitment. Now, it’s in the final stages of discussion.” If the current discussions go as planned, the film is expected to go on floors by the summer of 2026. The report further indicates that the movie will be shot in Mumbai.
Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar share a long and successful professional history. Their journey began when Sidharth worked as an assistant director on Karan’s 2010 film My Name Is Khan. Since then, Sidharth has been a part of several Dharma Productions projects, including Student of the Year (2012), Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Brothers (2015), Kapoor & Sons (2016), Baar Baar Dekho (2016), Ittefaq (2017), and the critically acclaimed Shershaah (2021).
Apart from this potential reunion, Sidharth has a busy slate ahead. He is preparing for his next film, Vann, where he stars alongside Tamannaah Bhatia. The actor was last seen on the big screen in Param Sundari with Janhvi Kapoor.
