Selvaraghavanâs Manithan Deivamagalam Locks Its Theatrical Release Date

After completing production in August last year, Manithan Deivamagalam is finally ready for its theatrical outing. The makers have announced that the Selvaraghavan starrer will release in cinemas on April 10.

Directed by Dennis Manjunath, the film is described as a rural drama that blends intense action with a strong emotional narrative. The announcement marks the latest acting venture for Selvaraghavan, who has steadily expanded his on-screen presence in recent years alongside his work as a filmmaker.

A rural drama rooted in action and emotion

The title Manithan Deivamagalam roughly translates to the idea of a man attaining god-like stature, hinting at themes of transformation, morality and personal struggle. While the makers have kept the plot under wraps, the film is expected to explore human relationships and moral dilemmas set against a rustic backdrop. With action sequences playing a key role in the narrative, the film promises to combine grounded storytelling with high intensity moments.

Dennis Manjunath, who directs the film, previously helmed Trip in 2021 and Thookudurai in 2024. Known for mixing genre elements with commercial storytelling, the filmmaker appears to be leaning into a more dramatic and emotionally charged space with this project.

Ensemble cast and technical crew

Selvaraghavan leads a diverse ensemble cast in Manithan Deivamagalam. The film also features Kushee Ravi, Kousalya, RS Sathish, YG Mahendra, Mime Gopi, Lirthika, Sudha, Jothikannan and Salem Deepak in prominent roles.

Backing the project are producers Vijaya Sathish and RS Sathish under the banner of Vyom Entertainments. The film’s technical team brings together several experienced names from the industry. Cinematography is handled by Ravi Varma K, while AK Prriyan has composed the music. Editing duties are taken care of by Deepak S.

The combination of a rural setting, emotional storytelling and action-driven sequences suggests that Manithan Deivamagalam aims to strike a balance between drama and commercial appeal. With Selvaraghavan in the lead, the film also carries the curiosity factor of seeing the filmmaker step fully into a performance-driven role once again.

On the filmmaking front, Selvaraghavan himself continues to remain busy with multiple projects. He is currently directing the sequel to his cult 2004 film 7G Rainbow Colony, a project that has generated significant anticipation among fans of Tamil cinema. In addition, he is also working on Mental Manadhil, which stars GV Prakash and Madhuri Jain in the lead roles.

Over the years, Selvaraghavan has built a reputation for crafting emotionally layered stories that explore flawed characters and complex relationships. His growing presence as an actor has added a new dimension to his career, with audiences responding positively to his intense screen persona.

With its release date now confirmed, Manithan Deivamagalam is gearing up to bring its mix of rural drama, action and emotion to theatres this April.
