When Vijay Deverakondaâs Parents Won Hearts With No Rules Approach to His Marriage
After years of ‘are they or aren’t they,’ Tollywood’s onscreen pair Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are officially tying the knot on February 26. Meanwhile, fans are loving an old clip of Vijay’s parents that has resurfaced. In the video, his mom, Madhavi Deverakonda, mentioned she just wants a daughter-in-law who loves her son unconditionally and understands the hectic film life. His dad (Govardhan Rao) was even more chill, saying they don’t care about caste or religion; and only that Vijay marries for love.
On the occasion, Madhavi also commented that her son was a good boy in real life. When the host quipped that many girls had been queuing up to marry Vijay, Madhavi simply laughed. At that time, nobody, including probably the Vijay-Rashmika duo, knew that they would get married someday. Their love story started on the sets of Geetha Govindam back in 2018, where their chemistry was so electric it practically jumped off the screen. While they always maintained they were just ‘best friends,’ the clues were everywhere. From secret vacations in the Maldives to spotted dinner dates and wearing each other’s hoodies, the duo kept us guessing for years.
The couple had a super private engagement ceremony about five months ago, surrounded only by their inner circle. Their Udaipur wedding is expected to be a beautiful blend of tradition and style. Confirming the wedding and embracing the #ViRosh tag, the couple recently said, “Our Dearest loves, before we made any plans, before we chose anything for ourselves— you were already there. With so much love, you gave us a name. You called us ‘VIROSH’. So today — with full hearts, we name our coming together in your honour. We would like to name it — ‘The Wedding of VIROSH’. Thank you for holding us with so much love. You are a part of us — always. Biggest hugs and full love.”
