Priyanka Chopra Jonas Calls SS Rajamouliâs Next Project Career-Defining During The Bluff Premiere

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has expressed excitement for her upcoming collaboration with filmmaker SS Rajamouli. Speaking at the premiere of her new movie, The Bluff, she opened up about the much-awaited project, Varanasi, which is already generating buzz across the industry and fans.

 

Priyanka, who continues to make a mark on the international stage, was full of praise for SS Rajamouli . Highlighting his standing in Indian cinema, she said, “The filmmaker’s name is SS Rajamouli sir, and he is one of the best that we have in India. And his movie is going to be really career-defining for me, I think, and I’m very excited about it.”

 

The project, Varanasi, is described as an ambitious action-adventure that brings together a powerhouse cast. Alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the film is set to star Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Reports suggest that Mahesh Babu will play the lead character named Rudhra, while Prithviraj Sukumaran takes on the intense role of Kumbha. Priyanka is expected to appear in a commanding avatar as a character named Mandakini.

 

The film is set against the ancient and spiritual backdrop of Varanasi, promising a story that blends deeply rooted Indian themes with a modern-day, large-scale cinematic approach. SS Rajamouli, known for redefining the scale of Indian cinema with global hits like Baahubali and RRR, seems to be venturing into another grand spectacle that has fans and critics alike eagerly waiting.

 

With striking glimpses of the project already circulating, fans have expressed their excitement to witness the film on the big screens. The film is currently slated for a theatrical release on April 7, 2027. Priyanka will also be seen in The Bluff which also stars Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green and Temuera Morrison. Directed by Frank E. Flowers, the film will release on Amazon Prime Video on February 25.
