Avinash Tiwary Opens Up on The Intense Face-off With Shahid Kapoor in OâRomeo

Audiences are eagerly awaiting Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming film O’Romeo. It is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Interestingly, one of the most talked-about sequences is the high-octane face-off between Avinash Tiwary and Shahid Kapoor.

Avinash Tiwary spoke about the preparation and thrill behind the scenes, saying, “I think it was one of the funniest scenes that we have done. There was a lot of prep that was required. I am a matador in the final sequence and there was training that was required to use the weapon that was used by the matadors. I think the scene also needed a lot of power. It needed a lot of vulnerability. There is pain, there is coldness, there is power, there is action, there is an element of extreme pain and vulnerability.”

He further added, “All of that, as a face-off with a beautiful action sequence, needed a lot of prep and also turned out to be a lot of fun. I hope and believe that it would also be able to create a shock value for the audience.”

The trailer for the movie was released some time back. It opens with a haunting dialogue on love by Triptii’s character. She says, “Mohabbat ek baddua hai jo mujhe bhi lagi hai aur aapko bhi,” which set the tone. The story is about Ustara. He is described as someone as a rowdy soul.

Interestingly, the movie is releasing theatrically on February 13, 2026. The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast. Nana Patekar appears as a seasoned cop. He serves as a foil to Shahid’s gangster persona. Avinash Tiwary features in striking sequences, including a memorable scene involving a fight with a bull. The movie also stars Disha Patani, Farida Jalal and Tamannaah Bhatia, with a special appearance by Vikrant Massey.

Exclusive: Bejoy Nambiar Reveals Rekhaâs Reaction to Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav in Tu Yaa Main

Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor are set to headline Bejoy Nambiar’s upcoming theatrical release Tu Yaa Main, which arrives in cinemas on February 13. The film sees Nambiar stepping into the creature genre while also paying homage to Rakesh Roshan’s cult Khoon Bhari Maang, starring Rekha.

The trailer opens with a clear nod to the 1988 film. During a conversation with Filmfare, where the filmmaker was sporting a Rekha T-shirt, Bejoy opened up about showing the trailer to Rekha and Rakesh Roshan, revealing their reactions to it and Shanaya and Adarsh’s performance.

Bejoy shared, “Khoon Bhari Maang is a film that hugely impacted me when I was growing up. I met Rakesh sir to get his permission to use the clip in the trailer. When I met him, I didn’t even prepare what I wanted to say. But it just organically came to me. I told him that in Indian cinema, if anybody has to talk about a movie with a crocodile, the only film they will think of is Khoon Bhari Maang. And after that, I am making a crocodile film. So it feels right to pay homage to a film like that and, of course, to Rekha ma’am. One of the first people I shared the trailer with was Rakesh sir and Rekha ma’am. They both responded with a lovely message. So in our own sweet way, we wanted to pay homage to a classic like that, and since we were doing a crocodile film, it just felt right.”

Revealing Rakesh Roshan and Rekha’s reactions to the trailer, he continued, “Rakesh sir was very sweet. I showed him the trailer and some clips from the film. He was very excited. He said that he will watch this in the theatre. I said I would keep a screening, but he insisted on buying a ticket and watching it in the theatres.”

The veteran actress also had a hilarious response to the trailer. Bejoy added, “I wish I could read out Rekha ma’am’s message. I showed it to Shanaya and Adarsh. She sent a long message after watching the trailer and was really impressed with both of them. She wrote the message the way Adarsh speaks in the film. She said, ‘ekdum jhakaas hai. Bidu, kya jhakaas trailer hai.’ Rekha ji said that and added that she can’t wait to see more of Adarsh and Shanaya in the film.”

Tu Yaa Main sees Shanaya as an influencer and Adarsh as a budding rapper. What begins as a fun collaboration between them soon takes a perilous turn when they have to contend with a deadly crocodile, forcing them to battle for their lives in intense, life-threatening situations. It is slated for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026.
