Party sources said the move follows a sharp standoff between CM Mamata Banerjee and the Election Commission officials during a meeting at the poll body’s Delhi office on Monday.

Mamata Banerjee, who holds a law degree, may choose to personally attend the hearing on Bengal SIR and present her submissions before the top court.
