Grammys 2026: Yungblud Pays Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne After Winning Best Rock Performance Award

Yungblud, along with Nuno Bettencourt, Frank Bello and Adam Wakeman, won in the Best Rock Performance category at the Grammys 2026 for their powerful cover of Black Sabbath’s song Changes. Yungblud dedicated the win to the band’s frontman, Ozzy Osbourne, whom he considers his idol and inspiration. He also revealed that he lit a candle with Sharon Osbourne the night before the award show.

“I was with Sharon last night. We lit a little candle. It’s pretty mental. It’s amazing to be here. It’s my first Grammys — my mom’s coming from England, which is cool — but yeah, man. It all goes to Ozzy tonight,” he said, speaking at the red carpet.

He also invited the late musician’s wife on stage after his acceptance speech.

During his acceptance speech, he spoke about Ozzy’s impact on him and said, “To grow up loving an idol that helps you figure out your identity, not only as a musician but also as a man, is something that I’m truly grateful for. But then to get to know them and form a relationship with them, honour them at their final show and receive this, because of it, is something that I, and I think we’re all, finding so strange to comprehend. We f***ing love you, Ozzy.

Yungblud continued, “We want to thank Sharon, Jack [Osbourne], Kelly [Osbourne] and Amy for this opportunity. Everyone in the Back to the Beginning Show, the whole band with me right now — we’re six generations of rock musicians that came together in the name of our genre, in the name of Sabbath, in the name of Ozzy Osbourne. God bless rock music, and god bless f***ing Ozzy Osbourne.” Sharon Osbourne got emotional and burst into tears as the 28-year-old musician honoured Ozzy.

Yungblud had also paid a tribute to the Prince of Darkness during his performance at Lollapalooza this year. Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath, passed away at 76 in July last year.

KPop Demon Hunters Bags First Grammy Award for Golden

Fans of KPop Demon Hunters are rejoicing as the movie has won its first Grammy award for the hit song Golden. The track won in the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media category, also marking K-pop’s first ever Grammy win.

Interestingly, the win for Golden was announced at the Grammy Premiere Ceremony. It happens before the main awards show, simultaneously alongside the red carpet. This category was introduced to honour and recognise the songwriters who create original music exclusively for films, series or other visual storytelling formats.

The song shot to worldwide prominence after the film’s breakout success and went on to make history as the first K-pop track to top both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart at the same time. With its Grammy win, the track is firmly established as one of the most impactful K-pop crossover hits ever.

Golden was penned and produced by a celebrated lineup of K-pop hitmakers, including EJAE. She also lent her voice to Rumi in the Grammy-winning song. The other makers include Teddy, 24, Lee Yu Han, Kwak Joong Gyu and Nam Hee Dong.

Interestingly, the track did not win in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. The award for this category was taken home by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo for Defying Gravity. However, it still has a shot at Song of the Year, which will be announced in due time.

The song also won in the Best Original Song – Motion Picture category at the 2026 Golden Globes awards recently. EJAE took to stage to give a heartfelt speech about the ups and downs in her career, which led her to make Golden and win prestigious awards for KPop Demon Hunters.
