Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in a crash of a Learjet 45 XR aircraft near Baramati runway on Wednesday. This is the second accident involving a VSR Ventures-owned jet in Maharashtra within two and a half years. The aircraft burst into flames upon crashing, with no survivors reported among the five on board.

The plea challenges the new rules on the ground that caste-based discrimination has been narrowly defined as discrimination only against SC, ST and OBC communities.

A CCTV video has surfaced showing the aircraft carrying Ajit Pawar plunging from the sky and erupting into flames while attempting to land near Baramati.
