Delhi experienced a frigid Tuesday morning, with temperatures dropping to a biting 3°C amidst a persistent cold wave and dense fog. The city’s air quality remained a significant concern, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) registering in the ‘very poor’ category. Several localities recorded AQI levels exceeding 300, highlighting the severe pollution levels.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda spoke to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and underlined the importance of close Centre–State coordination.

At the national level, cesarean deliveries in public hospitals declined from 15.5% in 2016 to 14.3% in 2021. Private hospitals recorded an increase from 45.4% to 47.5%.
