Exclusive: Niddhi Agerwal Gets Candid About Work-life Balance and 8-hour Shift Debates in Cinema

Niddhi Agerwal has added her voice to the ongoing conversation around work-life balance and 8-hour shift demands in the film industry. She has offered her honest and personal perspective during a candid interaction with Filmfare. The actor reflected on a physically demanding phase in her career when she was simultaneously juggling two major projects.

At the time, Niddhi was shooting for The RajaSaab while also filming Hari Hara Veera Mallu with Pawan Kalyan. The schedule, she revealed, left little room for rest but was a choice she made consciously. Speaking about that period, Niddhi said, “While I was shooting for this film (The RajaSaab), I was doing another film with Pawan Kalyan sir. It’s called Hari Hara Veera Mallu. I was doing double shift for a week and a half. So I would do morning shift there and evening to night shift here. Then ‘d have to travel by car because there was no flights at that time for six hours. So I did that for a week and a half. Not complaining. Not throwing it at everybody’s faces that I’m working so hard.”

Niddhi added, “So I feel like, right now, I’m in a space where I feel like doing this. Having said that, I’m not married and I don’t have kids. So I don’t know what is going to be like on the other side. Maybe my priorities will change at that point of time. But right now, I’m happy to shoot and work hard without putting it on everybody’s head that this is what I’m doing.”

Niddhi’s comments arrive at a time when the industry is increasingly debating regulated work hours, physical burnout and mental well-being. Rather than taking a rigid stance, the actor emphasised that every artiste’s circumstances are different and choices often depend on where one is in life.

The RajaSaab is releasing on January 9, 2026.

Niharika Konidelaâs New Film Is Titled Raakaasaa Release Date Revealed

Humour weaved into the narrative

Centred around the imagery of a solar eclipse emerging through dense, storm-laden clouds, the poster leans decisively into myth and fantasy. And the film’s title Raakaasaa appears sculpted in an organic, root-like form eventually evoking elemental force. “The humour in the film is organically weaved into the narrative and comes from character,” says Niharika.

Written and directed by Manasa Sharma, the film carries a unified creative vision. Starring Sangeeth Shobhan and Nayan Sarika, Raakaasaa is a coming-of-age entertainer. According to Niharika, the film strikes a perfect balance between seasoned performers and character-driven roles. She adds that all the characters are aligned within the film’s fantasy-comedy framework. “We believe the film promises to be a fun and engaging treat for the audiences. The script has all the ingredients of a commercial entertainer yet high creatively. We recently wrapped up a major action schedule, choreographed by Vijay. We also shot comic scenes and other crucial narrative portions that strengthen the humour and character dynamics.”

Film creates deeper emotional connect

Director Manasa Sharma states that though Raakaasaa is a comic caper, it creates deeper emotional connections and lasting impact beyond just fun. She adds that the high-energy sequences, thrilling quests, and exciting set pieces are put together to deliver a breezy entertainer. “Witty conversations, or absurd situations make audiences laugh. Blending entertainment with deeper meaning is a new genre we are exploring, and we hope it also resonates with the audiences,” she said. Except for one song, the film’s shooting has been completed, and the post-production work is being carried out simultaneously. The teaser will be unveiled in February.
