Mukesh Khanna Calls Ranveer Singh Kamaal in Dhurandhar Despite Shaktimaan Fallout

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, who once publicly opposed Ranveer Singh being cast as Shaktimaan, has now lauded the actor’s performance in Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster spy thriller Dhurandhar. In a recent video shared on his YouTube channel, Khanna offered generous praise for Ranveer’s screen presence, energy, and intensity, calling his work in the film “kamaal”.
Addressing the long-standing Shaktimaan controversy head-on, Khanna acknowledged the irony of the situation. He clarified that while he had vetoed Ranveer for the iconic superhero role, he has never doubted the actor’s talent. “People will say I rejected him for Shaktimaan. Yes, I did. But I have always said that Ranveer Singh is a good actor,” Khanna remarked, setting the record straight.
He went on to highlight what stood out to him in Dhurandhar. According to Khanna, Ranveer brings remarkable energy and commitment to the role. He specifically praised the actor’s intensity, brooding eyes, and the emotional flow of his performance, noting that there is a strong sense of sincerity and continuity in the way Ranveer inhabits his character throughout the film.
The comments mark a notable shift in tone from Khanna, whose earlier objections to Ranveer playing Shaktimaan had sparked widespread debate. At the time, Khanna had cited the actor’s flamboyant off-screen image as a reason for feeling he was unsuited to portray the disciplined, morally upright superhero he had made famous in the 1990s television series.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar continues its impressive run at the box office. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and others. Ranveer’s central performance has been widely credited as one of the key reasons behind the film’s massive success, with global earnings nearing ₹800 crore.

Vicky Kaushal reveals the one film he wants his Baby Boy to watch first

Actor Vicky Kaushal is soaking in the joys of fatherhood after welcoming his baby boy with wife Katrina Kaif earlier this year. Amid this new phase of life, the actor has chosen a special film from his career that he hopes to share with his son when the time is right.
Speaking to NDTV in an interview, actor Vicky Kaushal opened up about fatherhood and reflected on his journey so far, both personally and professionally. When asked which of his films he would want his son to watch first, Vicky didn’t hesitate.
He revealed that his choice would be Masaan, his debut film. Calling it “a nice film,” Vicky admitted that it might not be suitable for very early viewing, given its emotional weight. However, he added that the film captures life in its rawest and most truthful form, making it deeply meaningful to him. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, Masaan marked Vicky’s first leading role. The film showcased him as Deepak Kumar, a young engineering student working at the cremation ghats of Varanasi. The film explored themes of death, loss, social stigma, and resilience, and went on to become a critical landmark in his career.
Vicky also spoke candidly about raising a child in the public eye and whether he worries about his son’s privacy. He explained that he tries not to live in fear, believing that excessive worry only attracts the very things one wants to avoid. Instead, he and Katrina are consciously protective of their personal space, treating it as something sacred and worth guarding, even while accepting that occasional slips are inevitable in public life.
The actor and Katrina Kaif announced the birth of their son in November with a heartfelt note expressing love and gratitude. Married since December 2021, the couple has largely kept their family life away from the spotlight.
