A Hindu man was beaten to death and his body set ablaze in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh district following blasphemy allegations. This incident occurred amidst broader unrest, including attacks on media institutions and protests following the death of a student leader, raising concerns over minority safety and press freedom.

Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of Birch by Romeo Lane, spent their first night in a police lock-up after being arrested in connection with a fatal fire. They were interrogated extensively, and their request for mattresses was denied after medical examinations declared them fit. Other partners and managers have also been arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
