Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have recently been on the news for another troublesome controversy. As per recent reports, the duo’s home was searched by income tax officials after a case was filed against Shilpa’s restaurant Bastian Garden City for operating past the legal closing hours.

Taking to social media, Shilpa had shared, “We categorically deny the baseless and motivated allegations being circulated. The issues sought to be raised are being given a criminal colour without any lawful basis. A quashing petition has already been filed before the high court and is pending adjudication. Having fully cooperated with the investigation, we are sanguine that justice will prevail and have complete faith in the law enforcement authorities and the judicial system of our country. We respectfully urge the media to exercise restraint as the matter is subjudice,” she said.

As the news about income tax raids spread on social media, her advocate Prashant Patil noted, “On behalf of my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra I can confirm that there is no Income Tax ‘Raid’ of whatsoever nature against my client. There is a routine verification by the income tax officials pertaining to follow up with my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Whomsoever has mischievously claimed in public domain that these developments have anything to do with the alleged Economic Offence Wing case shall face legal consequences before the appropriate court of law. At the cost of repetition my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra states that there is no income tax ‘RAID’ at her place.”

The actor and her husband, Raj Kundra, are also facing allegations of cheating a businessman of Rs 60 crore in an investment deal. The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing has charged the couple in connection with the case. The businessman claimed that between 2015 and 2023, he invested around Rs 60 crore in Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. It’s a company associated with the couple which had promised assured returns and repayment.

The festive spirit was in full swing at the Bhatt-Kapoor household as Alia Bhatt and Neetu Kapoor hosted a warm Christmas bash at the family’s new residence. They brought together close friends and relatives for an intimate celebration. The actor, who recently moved into the much-talked-about home, played the perfect host and made time to pose with her guests through the evening.

The photos from the celebration are doing rounds on social media. Many fans also discussed about Ranbir Kapoor’s absence from the celebrations. While it is not known if he was absent or simply didn’t pose for photos, many social media users are eagerly waiting for Alia and Ranbir’s clicks.

On the professional front, Alia recently attended the Filmfare OTT Awards 2025, co-powered by Hyundai and Blenders Pride. She is currently gearing up for the releases of Love & War and ALPHA.
