BJP dropped Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar from its roster of star campaigners in the state. A revised list of 40 star campaigners, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was presented to the Election Commission of India by the party. The NCP (SCP) faction had filed a complaint with the ECI accusing the BJP of breaching the Representation of the People Act and electoral code by featuring names of politicians from other parties as its star campaigners.
