A 6.0-magnitude earthquake rocked the Anchorage metropolitan area Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Tragedy struck near the White House as a National Guard soldier, Sarah Beckstrom, succumbed to injuries from a shooting. President Trump announced her death, stating the second soldier is critically wounded. The alleged attacker, an Afghan national with prior CIA ties, is also injured and will face severe repercussions. The incident prompted lockdowns of nearby federal buildings.
