Deputy Fire Officer AK Malik said seven units were rushed to the spot when a call was received about the blast, that has left eight people dead and 24 injured.

PM Modi prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and said he reviewed the situation by speaking to Home Minister Amit Shah, who visited the LNJP Hospital to meet the victims.

Amit Shah earlier spoke to the Delhi Commissioner of Police and the Special Branch in-charge, while the NSG and NIA teams are leading a multi-agency probe into the blast.
