A powerful explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on Sunday evening sent shockwaves across the national capital. The blast, which triggered a massive fire and damaged multiple vehicles, led to a high alert across the city.

Deputy Fire Officer AK Malik said seven units were rushed to the spot when a call was received about the blast, that has left eight people dead and 24 injured.

PM Modi prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and said he reviewed the situation by speaking to Home Minister Amit Shah, who visited the LNJP Hospital to meet the victims.
