The blast occurred near the capital’s historic Red Fort, specifically outside Gate No. 1 of the Lal Quila Metro Station

A powerful explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on Sunday evening sent shockwaves across the national capital. The blast, which triggered a massive fire and damaged multiple vehicles, led to a high alert across the city.

Deputy Fire Officer AK Malik said seven units were rushed to the spot when a call was received about the blast, that has left eight people dead and 24 injured.
