From Ayushmann Khurrana’s spooky comedy Thamma to Colleen Hoover’s heartfelt Regretting You, these new films promise to make your movie nights exciting again. Thamma

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna star in Thamma, a horror comedy with a unique twist. The story follows Alok, a historian who discovers he’s part of a secret vampire bloodline, the Vetalas. When he’s unexpectedly turned into one, his world turns upside down. To save humanity, he must stop a powerful rogue vampire leader, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat

Love can be beautiful, but it can also be dangerous, that’s what Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat explores. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film stars Harshvardhan Rane as Vikramaditya, an artist who falls deeply in love with Adaa (Sonam Bajwa), a woman who believes love should set you free. Based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, Regretting You is an emotional drama about a mother and daughter learning to love and forgive after tragedy. Nellikkampoyil Night Riders

A mix of mystery and fun, Nellikkampoyil Night Riders is a Malayalam horror comedy directed by Noufal Abdullah. 1990’s (Telugu)

Set in the late 1990s, this Telugu romantic drama is inspired by real events from Melukote village in Karnataka. It follows two lovers from different castes who defy social boundaries to be together. After a lot of speculation, it has been confirmed that Aneet Padda will be leading Maddock Horror Comedy Universe’s (MHCU) upcoming film Shakti Shalini. Aneet became a sought-after name this year after the massive success of her film Saiyaara with Ahaan Panday. Reports were doing the rounds that the actress has replaced Kiara Advani in Shakti Shalini, but there was no official announcement. But now the makers have revealed it through a post-credit scene in Ayushmann Khurrana’s Thamma.

The makers attached the announcement teaser of Shakti Shalini along with Thamma. The words on the clip read, “The protector. The destroyer. The mother of all. Aneet Padda in Shakti Shalini. Shakti unleashed Dec 24, 2026.” This video has now gone viral all-over social media. Take a look:

Reacting to it, one netizen wrote, “So thrilled for #AneetPadda joining the MHCU family Future looks powerful, emotional & iconic Shakti x Shalini duo gonna serve.. #ShaktiShalini #MHCUniverse” while another fan added, “Goosebumps Mannn”

Meanwhile, last month Maddock Films issued a statement amid the reports of Aneet replacing Kiara and urged everyone to wait for official announcements from the production house. The Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe started with Stree (2018), directed by Amar Kaushik and featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. This film achieved huge commercial and critical acclaim, eventually leading to Bhediya (2022), Munjya (2024) and Stree 2 (2024). Thamma is the latest release from the MHCU. Besides Ayushmann Khurrana, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

The trailer introduces a vampire love story between Rashmika and Ayushmann, while Siddiqui plays Thamma, who plans to turn humans into vampires to build an army. After unexpected twists, his character is locked in a cave for 1000 years.

Talking of Aneet Padda, it is also reported that she will star in a courtroom drama directed by Nitya Mehra and Karan Kapadiya. She will be sharing the screen with Fatima Sana Shaikh.
