Chief Justice BR Gavai’s family has condemned the shoe incident targeting him in the court premises as an “attack on the Constitution” and asserted that no one has the right to take the law into their hands.

Former Attorney-General of India Mukul Rohatgi condemned the recent incident inside the Supreme Court where a lawyer allegedly threw a shoe at Chief Justice of India BR Gavai, and said that “courts of law are not meant to propagate religious ideas.”

Ukrainian forces have reportedly captured a 22-year-old Indian national fighting for the Russian army. Indian authorities are verifying the reports. The man, identified as Majoti Sahil Mohammed from Gujarat, allegedly joined the Russian military after a drug conviction. He claims he did not want to fight and surrendered. He was reportedly promised freedom and payment but received none.
