A day after 40 people were killed and nearly 100 injured in a stampede at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay’s rally in Tamil Nadu’s Karur district, DMK MP Kanimozhi took a jab at the popular actor-turned-politician.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Karur on Monday to meet survivors and families of the victims of the devastating stampede that killed 41 people.

A stampede at TVK leader Vijay’s rally in Karur tragically claimed 41 lives, including 18 women and 10 children. The TNEB clarified that power supply remained on, with the chaos stemming from generator failure and a falling tree. Vijay announced financial aid for the bereaved families and injured, expressing profound grief.
