Eleven new startups have made it to India’s unicorn list this year, taking the total to 73, according to the ASK Private Wealth Hurun India Unicorn and Future Unicorn Report 2025.

Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that Operation Sindoor, a punitive strike on terror bases in Pakistan, served as a crucial assessment of India’s defense capabilities. The operation exposed gaps in electronic warfare, counter-unmanned systems, and low-level radar technology. India is focusing on indigenous defense production and collaborating with DRDO to achieve self-reliance in defense.

A SpiceJet aircraft, en route to Mumbai from Kandla, experienced a tyre detachment during take-off. The incident prompted the pilots to declare a full emergency upon approach to Mumbai. Despite the loss of the tyre, the aircraft successfully landed, and all passengers disembarked without incident, as confirmed by a SpiceJet spokesperson.
