A massive fraud has been uncovered in Maharashtra’s education system, involving the misuse of the Shalarth portal. Senior education officers allegedly created fake teacher IDs and hired unqualified individuals for bribes, siphoning off an estimated Rs 2,000-3,000 crore. A Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the scam, with arrests and suspensions already underway.

The trial court in 2015 sentenced five individuals to death and seven others to life sentences in connection with the seven blasts that killed over 180 people in Mumbai.  

According to the complaint filed by the victim, she was sexually assaulted in a hotel room in March.
