Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Trinidad and Tobago, marking the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister since 1999. He addressed the Indian community, acknowledging their contributions and strong ties to India. Modi referred to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar as “Bihar ki Beti,” highlighting her ancestral roots and the cultural connection between the two nations.

The court observed that several universities and colleges have not held student union elections in recent years, resulting in the absence of recognised student councils.
